An interesting topic. https://community.metabrainz.org/t/spatial-audio-… Apple is "replacing" existing tracks on existing releases with new "recordings" that are dependend on the listening hardware. We really have no way to represent this s*** show.

Fascinating. Two releases or making it part of/similar to alternate tracklists is all that comes to mind

Even more difficult. Say an artist adds "Dolby Atmos" versions to one of their albums. Any of those tracks that also exist on compilation albums will also be replaced with the new recordings. There is simply no way to track all those down. Releases are now "living relesases" where the recording associated with any track can change at the whim of the artist/label.

So, I’m currently in the middle of setting up DistroKid. Things I’ve learned about the basic artist plan:

      • crism
You do not get to set a label; it will be forced to DistroKid.

DK will create a UPC for the album, and mint new ISRCs for each track.
      • 2022-06-17 16844, 2022

      • crism
DK does want to know the original release date, if previously released, and I am guessing that that will show up as the release date on the myriad platforms.

Fringe Element's home page on soundcloud links to the home page of Fringe, which doesn't link back to Fringe Element: https://www.fringe-music.com
