elomatreb[m] How would you merge them so that you don't mess up the existing correct entries? And Frog Leap shouldn't have any album entries.
elomatreb[m]
PelvicSorcery: Since the track order matches, a straightforward release merge with the "merge mediums and recordings" strategy should be fine
derwin
hrm, I forget, if a single track is released on bandcamp with a /track/ url, should that be a "standalone recording" ? I think so.
elomatreb[m]
Plus the release group
derwin: If it has a cover I would say no
PelvicSorcery
How does that handle the mispellings and artist?
elomatreb[m]
It will use the names and artist credits from the merge target (i.e. the correct release)
derwin
elomatreb[m]: hrm.
I mean, everything on Bandcamp has a "cover" ?
PelvicSorcery
I merge the bad version into the correct version?
elomatreb[m]
A "serious" cover I guess? As in, determine if it's artist intent to publish a single
PelvicSorcery: yes

elomatreb[m] I clicked on merge and nothing happened.
NM, it was hiding at the bottom.
elomatreb[m]
The relase was added to your merge queue if you scroll down
Go to the page of the second release and click merge again, and you will be presented with the merge options dialog
PelvicSorcery
I found it. It's a weird system.
Do I want to append or merge?
elomatreb[m]
You want "merge mediums and recordings"
PelvicSorcery
It's yelling at me that the artists don't match.
And do I merge the release or release group first?

elomatreb[m]
What do you mean "yelling"?
And the order of release vs. release group does not matter
PelvicSorcery
Warning: The recording artists do not match! Perhaps you meant to use the "append mediums" merge strategy?
elomatreb[m]
Right, this is intentional in your case, since you are trying to fix an incorrect artist
So you can ignore that warning
PelvicSorcery
ok
elomatreb[m]
PelvicSorcery: I see you uploaded the larger cover art, feel free to also remove the smaller one
PelvicSorcery
ok

Can someone explain how editing works here? Everything I've submitted so far has been approved automatically, but a problematic change I accidentally made on an album that I'm trying to undo won't go through.
I added the second CD, but the first one doesn't exist and needs to be removed.

d'oh, I would have answered his question
interesting that auto-editors can't approve "remove medium" edits!

I don't know how to handle data tracks, so I don't know if that part of their edits is reasonable.

hi, whoever can vote this... https://musicbrainz.org/edit/94412511 . I created a new release group by mistake for the release I just added instead of using the existing release group :/
elomatreb[m]
antlarr: Note that even if no one votes, your merge will go through in a week

elomatreb[m]: yeah, I know, but I wanted to add also a pseudorelease to the japanese release, and it's easier to do it when the english release is in the same release group, and in a week I might have already forgotten about it :)
elomatreb[m]
You will have to wait 2 days at least IIRC, since a merge is a destructive edit not even autoeditors can instantly approve them
antlarr
I understand that, but I still think if a "destructive edit" is done by the same person that created what will be destroyed less than 10 minutes after it was created (and there was no edit in the meantime by anybody else) it should be automatically applied
derwin
can anyone approve destructive edits?
I realized in responding to bardberic that I didn't know.
antlarr
derwin: you can vote on them at least :)

derwin: no, for most destructive edits
I think there's a few that can be approved - removing tracks of a medium, removing a URL maybe? Not even sure about that one
