hey all; I've been looking into the DVD db project again. I have a reasonable data model for what data would be useful to accumulate, and a setup how to make it work. It would function similar to the CDDB access; you have a disc ID (md5sum of some files, standard already), and you automatically extract some properties of the disc. You then annotate
it with information that expands on what the raw disc contains, like chapter names, which audio tracks are for visually impaired, which subtitle tracks are commentary etc, and which titles contain what kind of video title. That would then be useful to tools reading the disc to display a list of options what to play, or to seek usefully without
using the DVD menu. Or, of course, to store a backup on your disk to watch through your media center. Similar use case to the CDDB. What do you think?
dascandy: it would be good to modify the target label to "original production" too
and washington DC specifically
dascandy
I did want to change it to DC, but can I do that in one edit?
derwin
nah, not in the same as the merge, at least.
dascandy
ah ok, then you can assume I'll create a new edit for that as soon as the merge goes through
derwin
sweet, thanks for the tag-team.

Is [off] a flag to signal off-topic conversation?
Anyway. I was in the process of adding a release to MusicBrainz when I noticed someone had already beat me to it. However, there is some discrepancy with the naming of the release. If anyone more experienced with how to properly name things wants to take a look, https://musicbrainz.org/release/bca84183-e856-4...

Not exactly. It signals the logger not to include that line in the logs.
