got a question about 'mediums' for digital releases. I'm unsure what the guideline is for them? In most cases I would presume one singular medium is sufficient and logical for a digital release; but can there be justifiable cases to use multiple mediums? for instance if the release is sequenced with CD-R burning in mind?

zoedivision[m]: IMO, it’s really about what someone would look for in the track listing after tagging their files. I have one “album” that was a USB stick with three folders of MP3s; I entered that as 1 release with 3 media. If the digital release somehow simulates a 2-disc album, then I would follow that, I guess.
Plenty of "disc 1" "disc 2" in places like Spotify which we would also keep separate

i always add digital releases with multiple media if i can find at least one source to support this (deezer tends to be good for this)
if it's specifically a bandcamp release and the album is released as 300 tracks on one medium then don't, but

I have two CDs in hand that have exaxtly the same tracks as the two differently named releases in this group: https://musicbrainz.org/release-group/0efd8250-... . Both have different names ("Playboy" and "Sexual Feeling" from a different labels and have different barcodes and covers. should I a) add them both to the existing group with their respective additional names. or b)
add new groups, one for each?
(according to Picard the DiscIds are all different, as the track lengths seem to differ slightly)

The notes on the Discogs for the release group seem to explain the situation. I would say it is one release group. "Licensed to many small labels that released it under different names".
