yellowhatpro, I would like us to sync the BrainzPlayer with the phone’s mediaolayer in general.

For example, when I play music on the Listens page, it doesn’t show up on the BP.

Our BP should keep a track of all the songs that are playing on the phone and be able to tweak things from the app itself

The app crashed for me when I try to play one of my listens from the app :/

Yeah yellowhatpro , we should integrate those. Try having a look at the service we use to submit listens to LB from the app. From there we can maybe get controls of the songs currently playing on the app and integrate that with BP

Idr but it might be possible that your listens werent submitted from spotify. Maybe we assumed that every listen would have a spotify id and tried to play it.

Just checking, but it looks like the app crashes sometimes when I try to play files from my phone as well. I don't really have music but there are a few files. Sometimes I can play them sometimes it just crashes

Looks like the issues are: `IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 3, Size: 3` (I can see only 2 elements in that particular tab) for the first case and `NullPointerException: uriString` for the listens tab

Ok so I was able to reproduce the error, it happened when I used shuffle songs option.

Negative. In my case I have three playable files: on samsung ringtone and two voice messages from a messaging app appearing as <unknown> author. I pressed the <unknown> author, where I see the two voice message files. If I play the first one it works and I can skip to the second one. But if I try to press the second one straight away the app crashed. The error `IndexOutOfBoundsException` suggests there is an index offset issue

music metadata is not just comprised of the data that MB has. We could consider the data we have to be "public metadata", but there is a pile of private metadata that is not collected in one place.

e.g. who owns copyrights, who write what song, who played on what track and what their splits are.

(splits are how to split the rights on a track among the stakeholders of the track)

i see, makes sense. all of the articles i found when searching for broken metadata are talking about that private metadata indeed

and there are several companies who are working to fix the private metadata situation.

problem is, both silly valley and the music industry come with this: "We must own 100% of the solution" attitude.

would be great if i could jsut write "n" and the dropdown had the alstfm usernam already sine used it before

instead of typingit in every time and potentially getting it wrong and having to like.. delete my entire thing because re-importing everything after

CatQuest, typing "n" getting the dropdown, i think that is a browser autocomplete feature.
