What do you all think? More ‘thematic’ and stronger impact, but not redesigning all the elements themselves, so not too much re-coding

I’m not saying I think it’s better heh, it’s just what I assumed we would do. But as a database we standardize stuff anyway, e.g. if you want to store your own version of an album name you have to do it in your tags, so I don’t think it would be unexpected

If we can store both without it being confusing I think that’s great (but I suspect it will be confusing…)

Well, tags have always been the thing that is fully up to the user, I wouldn't want to break that if at all possible

i'd expct it as "you tag with whatever" but it counts as the standardised thing

so if i tag with "rap" it counts as hip hop

in picard it will see my tag as "rap" an chose that

(if that option is on)

but i'd also except that if i tag both "rap" and "hip hop" it would only count once and be "merged"

maybe display on a persons tag page as "hip hope (tagged as rap)

maybe display on a persons tag page as "hip hop (tagged as rap)

or "hip hop (tagged as "rap, hip-hop, hip hop)"

it would only count as one

in genre. but for folksonomy tag it woudl be all those

I'd except on "hip hope2 it would show "# instances tagged as rap, # instances tagged as hip-hop" etc

so you'd see how many tags are actually another word

reosarevok: Can you make a query for things tagged with rap _and_ a genre that _is not_ "hip hop"? My feeling is that there are non-hip hop rap things out there, but Linkin Park is the only thing that comes to mind. :x

in the first case, the listen has no MBID available. if there was one the track name and the artist name would be blue (hyperlinked).

therefore, in the first case the menu should not have an open in musicbrainz option in the drop down.

this is what the `{recordingMBID &&` check does.

if you remove it, then the button would always be shown but since there is no mbid it'll just lead to an error page.

mayhem: yup can relate. in my case as well that playlist was bad, it was mostly bad except 1 decent track i guess.

it seems apple also released their version of wrapped (Replay?) yesterday.

not sure what they did, the images i saw on twitter were top 5 artists, top 5 tracks, top 5 albums, total listened minutes. which we always have available so meh

total listened minutes is something we could add i guess. shouldn't be hard with the metadata cache in spark but accuracy boils down to mapping %.

does anyone remember me talking about a python library that does image analysis to find principal color and to determine how uniform an image is?

mayhem, lucifer: It matches a steep increase of load on gaga which is mainly running LB stuff. Do you know why?

I've got nothing abnormal running on gaga. all my work is on wolf.

There is surprisingly no load increase on nodes running MB website.

there seem to be more people importing listens, but nothing that should cause real problems.

hmm there was an lb alert around 5 mins before MB alerts

on the API yes, but I checked and it loaded fine for me.

yvanzo: iiuc, MB had increased 5xx near 9:05, following which gaga load began to increase. i think gaga's extra load is the effect not the cause.

due to some reason, pg bouncer became unavailble for a few seconds and when that happens all containers using it as a service are restarted by consul.

its possible that due to all LB containers restarting, load on gaga increased (though can't explain it fully now, there are processes which have to do more work on startup than steady state like spotify cache updater).

*can't explain it fully for now

do you know how to view pgbouncer logs or why pgbouncer may become unavailable in consul temporarily?
