      • <02abhishekabbi> So can you suggest me some issues regarding BB to work on?

zas: is it possible/how can i check request response times from rex/rudi nginx logs?
      • Satyaraj[m]: change it to `http://localhost:8100`.
      • you might need a hack to workaround internal server error on the playlist, if you get one let me know i 'll take a look
      • reosarevok
yvanzo: moin! I see there's some musicbrainz-docker commits so I'm guessing you'll want to write some proper release notes? :)
      • bitmap: is https://github.com/metabrainz/musicbrainz-serve... still possibly going to be worked on, or should it be closed?
      • yvanzo
        hi reosarevok, yes
      • zas
lucifer: I need to change the current log format so we have responses times (and extra infos about upstreams) in the main log file, we have them in a separate simplified log file for mbstats but without URLs (it was made to have very fast parsing, for near real time log analysis).
      • let me have a look, I'll tell you when ready
      • lucifer
        zas: sure thanks!
      • zas
lucifer: you can set "perflog": "yes" in docker server configs (see https://github.com/metabrainz/docker-server-con...)
      • it will create an extra log file, with performance data in /var/docker-logs/openresty/var/log/nginx/ on rudi & rex
      • lucifer
        makes sense, thanks zas!
      • zas
(btw, that's something I added a while ago, forgot about it...)

      • reosarevok
yvanzo: should I start a prod release and you prepare the docker one?
      • Will start with the translations etc

      • reosarevok
yvanzo: oh, ok. Can you do a quick review? :)
      • Forgot that fixes a regression and was still unmerged
      • yvanzo
reosarevok: The review is mostly about cases where `_delete_from_cache` might be missing, it’s not quick.
      • reosarevok
Ok, thought the test would cover that plus the checking bitmap already did, but feel free to dive into it :)
      • I'll get back to releasing in the evening then
      • yvanzo
reosarevok: Did you check the test documentation too?
      • reosarevok
You mean the labels? Yeah, the new ones seem fine
      • I'd personally uppercase the first word in descriptions but not something I'm going to nitpick either

      • lucifer: can you please review the "add RSS feeds" idea on the LB aritst page. it doesn't meet all the requirements for a fully documented idea.
      • ApeKattQuest
hey rrs feed on lb artist page seems liek a neat idea tbh

      • mayhem[m]
        'tag:(downtempo, trip hop) artist:(portishead)'
      • stick with what you know. :)
      • I resolved the edit conflict on the ideas page. have a look to make sure I didn't trounce anything you added, lucifer.
      • lucifer
need an english sentence, so `a playlist of tracks from the artist Portishead and other artists similar to him and mix in some downtempo or trip hop tracks`?
      • mayhem[m]
        oh.
      • reosarevok
"and other artists similar to him" -> "and other similar artists"
      • Avoids trying to figure out gender/number
      • mayhem[m]
"a playlist in style similar to Paul's Boutique, but with trip hop and downtempo artists instead"
      • lucifer
mayhem[m]: some formatting had got overridden, fixed it. looks good
      • reosarevok: makes sense
      • mayhem[m]
        lucifer (IRC): thanks!

zas, outsidecontext: Hello! I just had a look at the Picard GOSC ideas page, which according to the GSOC requirements are missing an "easy, intermediate or hard/difficult rating"
      • mayhem
monkey: I just added them. Guessed at Medium for both. Also, expected outcomes is missing. Same for the MB ideas page
      • monkey
In picard page the first sentece of each project reads like expected outcomes
      • mayhem
lets be fully explicit about it and leave no chance for confusion.

Satyaraj[m]: try replacing the `fetch_playlist_recording_metadata` function in `listenbrainz/webserver/views/playlist_api.py` with this code https://gist.github.com/amCap1712/4894a8b5cf673...
      • no need to commit this, just a temporary hack to get things working locally
      • Satyaraj[m]
        got it, thanks!

jasje: Thanks for reporting the modals disappearing issue !
      • yvanzo
reosarevok: Is there anything that you’d like to adjust in the MB GSoC ideas?
      • I checked for common mistakes and didn’t find any.
      • outsidecontext
        mayhem, monkey: thanks
      • reosarevok
I think they were fine last I checked but I can take a second look
      • yvanzo: seems fine

        Thanks

lucifer: this is the error i was getting while working on the music neighbourhood thing
      • also the error comes up when clicking on any release locally

yvanzo, reosarevok: thanks for the release & remembering to deploy the cache fixes. I'm guessing it's not the only place where we don't invalidate things, and that there may be more issues

        hello folks
      • outsidecontext: sorry to bother, but I was wondering if there was an issue with the enhanced titles plugin, since I haven't seen it in the list of available plugins on Picard's website yet.
      • huhridge
lucifer: okay so the neighbourhood problem was that there is no artist similarity data available locally and it's a pain in the ass to generate
      • lucifer
huhridge: yes, i'll try to find a way so that you can just use the prod data. ping me in a couple of hours.
      • outsidecontext
twodoorcoupe: you are right. probably there is some issue with the website processing that plugin. I can check that later
      • huhridge
        lucifer: okay! no hurries
      • twodoorcoupe
        Thank you :)
      • outsidecontext
I rather suspect the issue to be on picard-website, not the plugin itself
