last week, i worked on fixing some issues with popularity data and recommendations generation. also, answered multiple GSoC queries, reviewed a few PRs and diagnosed issues causing LB downtime.

finally, worked on moving some long running tasks to a background service. delete listens and delete account at the moment, export listens to be added in future.

Lucy is off for a 6 week hike in Japan, so a lot of walking the doggo and so on and cooking for one, as well!

I spent some time reading the Solr docs and various guides to try and understand the application better.

I also pushed the artist radio for LB radio server implementation forward which was merged last week. thanks for your help on this lucifer .

now we just need to do tags and we can release an improved LB radio -- one that should in theory scale better.

once that is done, I'll circle back with Ansh and aerozol[m] on how to improve the UI so we can drag the feature out of beta.

I'll be traveling for the next week, I'll still be working a few hours in a day before diving into exploring my destination.

I wanna start with good news: I finally finished the feature of importing playlists from Spotify!! Now the code is implemented using troi (I spent a whole week fighting w it, glad I could make it). For now, some little changes for frontend is left. So Working on feedback monkey gave me!

Im having a break rn from uni, so now I can spend more time for contributions. I am thinking of already starting to work on the cool feature we discussed with aerozol and @UltimateRiff

Soo We will have playlist labels and folders soon ;)

Last week i worked on two tickets one related to a bug and another to BB server crashing

learned some basics for perl (something very new for me) , as i was trying to have a look at musicbrainz codebase

read about Recurrent neural networks , for my uni exams

made a project of my own trying to practice some animation in next using tailwind and framer-motion

lastly finished the campaign of watch dogs 3 (any video game lover here ??)

A user has submitted a PR to add (optional, nobody freak out please) user areas to LB, but we may want to discuss this first.

I believe mayhem and lucifer had discussed adding this to OAuth eventually, but it would be nice to confirm what we want to do and if anyone has any input. I would like to see events added to LB soon, personally, and there is some contributor interest

Otherwise it makes sense to me. The other thing is that it’s probably a good idea to support setting multiple areas in LB, for people who travel or live close to a number of cities, etc (I think this will be quite common). But that could be in tandem

this only add the support for adding areas. it doesn't actually do any of the concert listing feature.

yvanzo: i think the way we will do it is, allow users to set an area for themselves but then let them choose an arbitrary area to view events from on the relevant pages itself.

and everyone else wants to discuss the finer points of what we're not working on.
