Hi relaxoMob ! Where do you need to use the logo svgs in the app? Depends on your use case. If you need to change the icon, it would be different

hey zas, Thanks for the review on the PICARD-187. Actually, I previously noticed that when deleting the cover art tag entirely, the thumbnail (displaying the cover art image on the bottom right) doesn't update itself. The `Show more details` table is updated though.
      • I suspected LRUCache not updating, but clearing it didn't help. I also tried creating a new CoverArtThumbnail object and setting it to `self.cover_art` but it crashes picard. Can you please guide me a little on what I may be missing and any recommended approach to update thumbnail?

relaxoMob: hi! from what you wrote to me, if you still do the last bits (including confirming data) by hand, then your automation does not need to be listed as a bot - but if it's easy enough to use it could still be nice to make it available for other users
      • yvanzo
        Happy Holi! 💚 🟥 🔷 🟡
      • reosarevok
And you should make sure you do it right, and don't end up with the wrong artist like in a recent Alice Cooper (person vs band) issue :)

reosarevok: yes, the last step is done by hand but cannot guaratee that it will be 100℅ perfect. Is it better then to list it as a bot? I mean I do my best with involving social media links to match the artists better, but sometimes there is just the plain artist name string given, then I can only guess and take the best match.
      • reosarevok
That's true of editors editing by hand too :)
      • Just make sure to check the disambiguations if there are any

And the Alice Cooper case is a real edge case where even the social media links overlap.

      • And I give hints in the seed when the Artist was not clearly Identified, then the person who enters the seed has to do it by hand anyway.

      • Regarding open sourcing: I think I have to document and clean up everything a little.
      • Will it be better for others who want to check the edits when we list it as a bot?

        Hi guys, happy holi! 🥳
      • I have come up with an initial draft of the proposal for rust bindings of mb db. Sharing it here, if someone wants to give some suggestions before I get embarrassed on community (again) , that would be awesome!
      • open to criticism guys, please go ahead!
      • relaxoMob
reosarevok: nice tip, will document it in the bios
      • The code runs locally, maybe in a docker later.
      • First I tried copy paste text file input (still possible) but now I use selenium to scrape. The scrapers can be encapsulated but currently, they are part of the same executable

First, your Timeline section is mainly about archiving pages, which is fine, but maybe it should also be more detailed in your Implementation section (currently, only there is only 4. about it) and likely the main title.
      • For example, what are your options for the cache?
      • mara42 has quit
      • reosarevok
yvanzo: Given I have a relatively slow computer, I'm guessing downloading is the better option? Unless you specifically need testing the generation

yellowhatpro: A few more things from skimming through your draft: What analytics tools do you have in mind? It isn’t possible to delete edits, only edit notes. If you want a better understanding of MB, just use it. 🙂

      • zas
well, normal as there's no such file in the FTP directory
      • yvanzo

Oh, I see you put a beta out, thanks :)

      • this ftp 2 https thing was a quick hack, we may need to rework this
      • reosarevok
Well that of course just broke the dumps download :)
      • yvanzo: do I need to clear anything by hand before rerunning sudo docker-compose run --rm musicbrainz fetch-dump.sh search ?
      • yvanzo
reosarevok: No I don’t know the issue about these annotations, it has to be investigated.
      • zas
we have tons of useless queries on this nginx instance
      • it might cause rate limits to trigger
      • yvanzo
reosarevok: You shouldn’t need to, but there shouldn’t be any tmp file either, so maybe yes.
