Otherwise, Lucy-Belle gets back on Saturday, and I bought an airfryer as a surprise (she’s wanted one for a while). I have been testing it out, can recommend!

Looking forward to be back to contributing code as well!!

Oh and not to mention, seeing this year's GSoC applicants :))
which includes figuring out if INST-924 is actually a bagpipe or not, since apparently according to http://web.archive.org/web/20060619121042/http:... (which is the source on the wikipedia page, which also mentions the assumed error in Grove*) it *ISNT*

Last week, I worked on addressing index issues caused by long text filled in recording’s title.
This is the uppermost nonsensical work in a while I have to say.
It should be fixed in production today or tomorrow.
I also kept preparing search upgrades, plus usual support.
Fin, go derat!

howdy, everyone!
#3191 was merged for MBS-7646 with refactoring suggestions from bitmap; it's in beta now (and more thanks to bitmap for creating #3252 to fix a bad beta/prod interaction reported at MBS-13560)
last week was mostly about continuing on Picard refactoring, paving the way to Picard3
we finally managed to get rid of annoying stuff we had to keep since years in order to not break plugins, but with Picard3 we break plugins anyway (that's the upcoming work)
apart that, I block even more bot queries, causing huge load on mb website (one bot alone is using 10k+ IPs)
reosarevok
Are those the dodgy AI bots?
zas
I also helped atj on new solr cloud front
reosarevok: yes

Jesus. And they say they work on "good" safe AI. Don't show it for sure.

Not much to report on my end
Last week was full of external vivas, project presentations, class tests, and coping with the soaring temperatures here in India.
and just some failing test fixing on my own PR
That's it , kellnerd : next ?

Hello :)
Last week was another Harmony week which started with lots of minor improvements to UI (e.g. sticky navigation bar, color tweaks) and DX (e.g. automated deployments).
Then I finally worked on resolving external URLs to MBIDs, a feature which was long overdue. Looking good so far, only caching is not finished.
In order to have shorter cache keys and canonical URLs everywhere, I made provider URL parsing and formatting generic, which also simplified the provider implementations in the end.
After all that refactoring I wanted to do something more fun, so I did write a Bandcamp provider over the weekend :)
Once MBID caching is ready, it is about time to write an announcement post in the forums I guess.
That's it, bitmap next?

hey
I mostly continued working on schema change / postgres upgrade tickets, and did some code review
currently I'm working on finishing the PG12 -> PG16 upgrade script, along with an additional test script for the upgrade that invokes it on some test containers that mimic the production ones
then I'd like to start performing tests on a copy of the production database this week
reosarevok
Yay proper tests

Hi Everyone!
Last week I worked on BrainzPlayer SPA feature. I worked on refactoring a couple of class components to functional components.
And majorly spent time on the SPA Feature Branch. Merged all the PRs into the feature branch, made couple of final changes.
I’m pretty happy that the branch is finally merged and currently deployed on beta.
I also spent some time reviewing PRs.
That’s it for me.

hello
last week i continued working on the Solr 9 cluster set up
relaxoMob has quit
I ended up migrating all the nodes to new arm64 VMs after testing a single node for compatibility and performance
zerodogg joined the channel
now seeing approx. double the performance with much more consistency (Hetzner arm hosts seem to be less loaded than the x64 ones)
and the cost is ~30% cheaper
relaxoMob joined the channel
also worked on the Grafana Solr 9 dashboard to I could visualise the impact of my load testing and work out what area to focus on
reosarevok
Well, good thing it didn't cost an arm and a leg, and we're now well armed
