aerozol: Thanks for the mock up! Yes I was OK with putting everything on the page. But after seeing the discussion, I actually now prefer popup/modal. Even with only one option, it feels a bit crowded IMO.
Can we do this:
- feed without option: we use a regular feed icon and it's just an image with hyperlink on it. To copy the URL, user right clicks on it and uses browser's context menu. AFAIK this is the standard-ish behaviour of a feed icon.
- feed with options: we use a different icon to indicate that this feed is customizable. Hovering on it gives a tooltip like "click to customize this feed". Clicking on it shows the modal.

And we will have more room to clarify the exact meaning of an option.

rimskii: hi! what's the progress on apple music/soundcloud playlist export?

rimskii[m]
lucifer[m]: hi!
everything's fine so far, I'll open PR for it in troi today
but still testing it
aerozol[m]
ericd: Great! If you are happy to go with the popup (when there are options), then itās hopefully straightforward for you to work on that. Deciding whether to open a popup or not when there are no options should be a trivial decision once thatās done?
rimskii[m]
unfortunately, couldnt do that in last week, was a bit sick, so now trying to catch up
aerozol[m]
At that icon size it might be tricky to get a cog + RSS combo, but we may decide to have popups for both, so not worth worrying about (yet) imo
lucifer[m]
rimskii[m]: oh. sorry to hear that. hope you are doing better now!
rimskii[m]
lucifer[m]: yes everything is great, thank you! I just had to go to the hospital to get some tests done, sorry for not warning in advance
lucifer[m]
rimskii[m]: no worries, but in case you expect further disruptions let me know and we can discuss extending the project by a couple of weeks.

<aerozol[m]> "ericd: I spent a bit more time..." <- I also think a popup would probably be better. One more reason is that there will inevitably come a time when we want to add more options and will lack the space to put them
[troi-recommendation-playground] 14rimma-kubanova opened pull request #146 (03mainā¦weeklyjams): [LB-1599] Weekly Mix export to Spotify fails (description too long) https://github.com/metabrainz/troi-recommendati...

aerozol[m]: I honestly think rss feed option would be better suited for the leftmost sidebar
the "sidebar" you linked isn't actually somethingI thouht of asa sidebar

LB team, I see thereās been a new release š„³ - am I mistaken, or can I usually see the updates on LB prod immediately? I canāt this time, am I just looking at it quicker than usual?
monkey: did you see my message about the lfm importer last week?
monkey[m]
Sorry, missed that, let me scroll back
lucifer[m]
no worries. so basically i have a prototype of the importer ready, just need to figure out how frequently to send emails for errors etc.
monkey[m]
I see, automatic resyncing
Great, that's been requested :)
lucifer[m]
but need a couple of ui improvements on frontend side, better connection interface with a way to view/update/delete username of last.fm account. in future also show the progress status of the import.
monkey[m]
OK, I can have a look at improving the UI for LFM imports. Need to think for a moment to make sure I'm future-proofing it so that it works well for other services too.
lucifer[m]
sure sounds good.
monkey[m]
Will this also work the same for LibreFM?
lucifer[m]
yes can work.
although i really doubt anyone is actively using it today.
monkey[m]
Starting to think the import page should be used for manual dumps imports (i.e our exported data, spotify extended history, etc.), and the LastFM/LibreFM stuff would go in the "connect services" page.
lucifer[m]: Yep, more wondering about placement in the UI pages, probably best if they are together

We have a bunch of mailed in reviews:
zas says:
'I'm enjoying summer time in some retired place in the south of France, very bad connection from here.
I didn't do much this week, just usual supervision, upgrades, Picard PR reviews. That's it.'
ericd says:
'Last week I was kinda busy preparing stuff abroad, mostly on renting a room in Hamilton. I experimented with feed for stat art, but not quite workable. Will take a closer look this week. I will also work on feed UI, as previously discussed.'
outsidecontext says:
'''
I was mostly spending time investigating Picard tickets and especially trying to handle weird segfaults on macOS with Spanish locale (PICARD-2914). I thought I would at least have a workaround, but according to the forum discussion at https://community.metabrainz.org/t/picard-crash... this might still not be enough.
I also reviewed a new PR by twodoorcoupe . Excellent work on the GSoC project twodoorcoupe . Thanks a lot.

I made a PR changing a word, which I think makes me a developer!?
Then reo told me I edited the wrong file/the PR wouldnāt do anything. I am definitely still a developer - just a very very very bad one.
A bit of GSoC discussion, esp. with ericd regarding the RSS layout.
A few weeks ago there was discussion regarding if we should have a dedicated ListenBrainz ChatBrainz channel, and I said I would eventually get round to making a report on the levels of activity in all the different Discord channels. Pretty interesting, regardless of if we make new channels or not:
reosarevok[m] sent a code block: https://matrix.chatbrainz.org/_matrix/media/v3/download/chatbrainz.org/UJIvCxaagxppwdoaCxsGGQYI
Had the second band break up this year, just as we finished recording an EP. Promptly formed the third š¤

aerozol's bandmates just want him to have more to do in MusicBrainz. Good people.
That seems to be it for mailed in reviews
mayhem and LupinIII (IRC) asked to go early, so please go in that order?
mayhem[m]
thanks
last week was vacation!
I didn't do a whole lot of work, just the minimum. we were in a beautiful place, but with a heat wave, so it was hard to concentrate on work.
I paid the team and followed up on accounting stuff.
which is what I did for a large chunk of today.
tomorrow I'm off for the UK where the weather has been miserable, thankfully.
so, I hope to be more online in the next 10 days, but still mostly on vacation.
fin. LupinIII (IRC) go
