Hey there!

Last week I did the final bits to unify the handling of regular BB entities and pending imports.

That is you can now use an import BBID everywhere where you could use a regular BBID previously (including questionable stuff such as adding imports to collections, which is not explicitly disallowed yet).

Next steps will be finding more cases where imports require special handling and the satisfying part of deleting a whole bunch of now unused code.

I also had a video call with monkey where we discussed the next steps and realized that certain things will now be even easier than what I had expected in my proposal.

This week I will be busy with a university task, so the next steps have to wait until the weekend.

Added some integration tests, and fixed a couple of stuff

Updated the CI workflow to run tests

Nothing work wise. I spent last week at moving. Now having a much better desk setup. Always improving neck’s condition.

Congratulations to Jade for her completed project, and to all GSoCers for their projects, either completed or near-completion.

Looking forward to mentoring yellowhatpro through a few extra weeks at deploying and polishing his already shiny project!

at the start of last week I hot-fixed https://github.com/metabrainz/musicbrainz-serve... and released beta (I think mainly with derat's PRs)

later I had to make an emergency patch to the prod containers to disable release relationships for logged-out users, due to severe issues with website response times...things are much better since atj performed a mass-blockening, so I can revert that today

the rest of the week I was mainly working on performance improvements to release pages or doing code review/fixing test failures

last week, i continued working on stats processing in spark and fixed some issues in soundcloud metadata cache. also, followed up on open PRs and reviewed a couple of PRs for rimskii 's project.

Plus some URL handling updates, and updating some dependencies

Last week, I mostly worked on integrating soundcloud

im happy to report that the SoundCloud import feature is now complete and has been successfully added to both Troi and LB!

the frontend is also finished and everything should be live in production within the next few days :)

also I'm nearly done with export. I've been working with lucifer , who's been a tremendous help! weve completed the playlist generation, track lookups, and identifying unplayable tracks. there are a few tweaks needed, but the core functionality is in place.

This week, I plan to wrap up Apple export as well, hopefully can finish in 2 days. Then I wanted to focus on writing tests (boo) and improving soundcloud track lookup logic when importing

The changes I made are rolled out to beta
