atj, zas: I plan to deploy Solr 9.7.0 to mirrors ^ even though our SolrCloud instance has not been upgraded yet.
      • reosarevok[m]
How problematic is it to update the instances?
      • yvanzo[m]
See backlogs about downloading archives from GH.
      • reosarevok[m]
Ah, that's the one where you were suggesting to self-host?
      • yvanzo[m]
        Yes
      • reosarevok[m]
How do we do that? @zas said it was ok :)
      • yvanzo[m]
        Currently building image for mb-solr.
      • It was just an option, nobody said that it would be useful.
      • This isn’t needed for Monday’s upgrade.
      • atj[m]
I just pushed a branch to the Ansible repo for upgrading Solr to 9.7.0
      • yvanzo[m]
reosarevok: You can try the branch `solr9fg` for building indexes and comparing times.
      • atj: The JAR will have to be updated too.
      • reosarevok[m]
Sure, guess I can - how did I change the branch in the container again? Change SIR_VERSION in build/sir/Dockerfile to solr9fg and rebuild?
      • yvanzo[m]
        reosarevok: It's a branch of musicbrainz-docker.
      • reosarevok[m]
        Ah gotcha :)
      • Will run a few indexes with the old one, then check out and run the same with that

      • reosarevok[m]
yvanzo: this is confusing, am I doing something dumb?
      • Error response from daemon: invalid mount config for type "volume": invalid mount path: 'var/solr/data/data' mount path must be absolute
      • Running sudo docker compose up -d after sudo docker compose build in the new branch
      • (also getting these, but those are not new:)

      • yvanzo[m]
reosarevok: Did you try anything else since then? Did you ditch the old indexes beforehand?
      • reosarevok[m]
        I didn't, but that wasn't a problem before
      • Am I supposed to?
      • I'm off now, back on Monday in theory but if you need me to run a few tests in the evening I can look into it
      • yvanzo[m]
I will be around tomorrow as last chance of allowing mirrors’ migration to Solr 9 on Monday.

mayhem: I know it's the very end of the day on a Friday, but can I safely deploy a new version of LB with your recent changes?
      • It can probably wait until Monday, the onyl pressing merged PR is the artist page date 500s
      • mayhem[m]
        lemme see
      • should be fine. if it breaks, we'll get a notification now, so yay!
      • monkey[m]
        Hehe
      • OK, I'll deploy and keep an eye on it in the next couple of hours

Hi everyone! I’m Darsh, a second-year B.Tech CSE student at SVVV. I’m new to open-source development, but I have a solid foundation in C++ and Python. I discovered MetaBrainz while exploring last year’s GSoC organizations and was impressed by its mission and contributions to open data. I’m eager to start my open-source journey here, contribute to your projects, and learn more about the amazing work being done at
