<tux0r> "re:migrating away from wordpress..." <- it looks respectable for sure, but one criterion raised earlier is that our target is something we wouldn't host, and the managed hosts out there for writefreely cost a not insignificant amount. it also seems generally built for running communities where the constituent writers are relatively independent from each other & are in communication w/ each other to an extent, but MeB's
posts are basically all some form of organizational announcement. writefreely does have a more org-oriented "chorus mode" but it's described as experimental and "half-baked" in docs: https://writefreely.org/docs/main/admin/chorus

i see. well, worth a look, i thought.
in that case, sorry for wasting your time reading up on it:)

no problem! don't feel bad about it — it seems like it could be a great tool in other context but maybe isn't the right one for MeB's needs right now. i'm also just one person on the team, there are a bunch more of us who may have entirely different thoughts :)

yeah, there aren't really many options for blog hosting that aren't WordPress these days, I feel... I've been looking for options for a personal blog, and haven't really been finding anything that's not self-hosted or paid (and on the latter, I haven't found many)
