Hello everyone,
I haven't received any feedback on my proposal for the ListenBrainz iOS App – Road to Production. Could someone please take a moment to review it when you have the chance? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or improvements. You can find the proposal https://community.metabrainz.org/t/listenbrainz... . Thank you!

<krishnacosmic[m]> "Hello everyone,..." <- Hi, please be patient. It takes some time to review the proposal.
lucifer[m]: On it!
krishnacosmic[m]
Sorry for being impatient. I appreciate the time it takes to review, and I didn’t mean to rush. Just wanted to make sure I can work on any feedback in time that is all.

aerozol: Should I change the gradient of this screen. Rn I followed gradient of my mockups. But to maintain consistency, I can change it.

bitmap: One more question... What do you output if there is no area/country assigned to an artist record? Do you set it as Null in the json output, or not include the "country" setting at all (or something else)? Thanks.
reosarevok[m]
Bob Swift: IIRC from my testing it was null in JSON, omitted in XML, which is what we usually do for each
[@mayhem:chatbrainz.org](https://matrix.to/#/@mayhem:chatbrainz.org) sounds good to me

<krishnacosmic[m]> "Sorry for being impatient. I..." <- No need for sorry. I understand your point. Its just that reviewing such a big proposal takes time :)
<mayhem[m]> "image.png" <- its also chat-gpted because many countries in the list are not really countries but territories with iso 3166 codes (eg: svalbard and some uninhabited australian islands etc.)
mayhem[m]
yep. the penguins got slapped with a tariff. 🤯
reosarevok[m]
Not Russia though 🤷
mayhem[m]
did you expect it to make sense?
reosarevok[m]
Nah
"The stupidest possible explanation is the most likely to be correct (AKA Trump's Razor)."
mayhem[m]
ohhhhhhhhh! I gotta remember that! #clever
though, the tariffs make sense -- in the most deranged way ever, but still.
LB-1543: Mapping should prefer official releases over bootlegs

Here a bootleg album wins over an official EP

I just created this spreadsheet so that people can add inputs and expected outputs.
I'll just this data as input to the test suite of the new mapper.
the link is world writable, so lets not share it too publicly..
RustyNova: this might interest you as well. anytime someone reports a problem with the mapper, have them add a row to the spreadsheet. that will ensure I will fix/address or mark the case as invalid.
ok, dont all jump at once, everyone, lol. I guess no one likes building test data, but people like filing bugs. sigh
kellnerd[m]
I would love to, but how do I select the canonical release from a RG to write a helpful test case?
I only know which release/RG should not be used :)
mayhem[m]
I think best guess will do.
but the opposite is also good.
kellnerd[m]
Lol, I was confused for a moment because suddenly there were two separate tables
mayhem[m]
clear now?
kellnerd[m]
I've added the expected and the unexpected output to the respective table
Yeah, but you've deleted my "Incorrect Mappings" entry which was actually different...
mayhem[m]
which of the two tables should the billie ellish case go to?
back now. :)
kellnerd[m]
thx
inputs are the same, one is the current incorrect release MBID, the other a more reasonable release MBID
nawcom has quit
Should the recording mbid column be empty in the "incorrect" table since that MBID is the expected one?

I've added the link to the ticket as a column in case that is helpful to close them when they have been addressed.
mayhem[m]
ideally it would document a mapping failure and the data for each line would be the data given by the mapper.
kellnerd[m]
Ok, so the example as I entered it should work.
I just wanted to avoid a confusing error such as "this recording is not expected to have the MBID x"
* to avoid having a confusing, * MBID x" potentially

mayhem: i was digging through some old browser tabs and found something that might be promising for getting the MeB blog away from WP: publii.
super brief overview [here](https://jamstack.org/generators/publii/), project homepage [here](https://getpublii.com/), WP importer tool(!) info [here](https://getpublii.com/docs/import-wordpress-into-static-html-site.html). low priority, but do you mind taking a look at fit for needs/viability when you have time?
mayhem[m]
that does sound promising!
julian45[m]
neat!
reosarevok: i think you had mentioned some time ago that you had access to the WP admin side. could you please follow the backup steps [here](https://getpublii.com/docs/import-wordpress-into-static-html-site.html#backingupyourwordpresssite) and send me a copy of the resulting file to work with?
reosarevok[m]
Sure, can try
dvirtz: when you have some time please see the comment on MBS-13884 - it's a trivial change to make so we can quickly make it if needed and release it with the next update to beta in a few days at most
<BobSwift[m]> "bitmap: One more question..." <- if there's no area/country assigned to the artist, it'll output as `null`. the property is only omitted if the data isn't loaded. I think it should always be loaded, or at least that was the intention, but perhaps don't assume the property exists (and if you find a case where it doesn't, let me know :))
