Last week, I mainly worked on releasing the new version of MusicBrainz Docker.

It now requires Docker Compose v2 and provides Solr 9 for mirrror’s search.

It settles the end of our support for Solr 7 to the end of the month.

This past week, I worked on building the frontend UI for some of the user statistics sections and created mock queries to simulate the data flow and test the components.

Thanks to lucifer for the data, will soon start testing with the real data and proceed with the actual implementation

Hi Everyone!

Last week, I finished off reviewing BootStrap 5 migration, and Typescript upgrade PRs, and we’ve finally merged them.

Next, I worked on upgrading React Router to v7 to unlock more features, we’ll need in the future.

Since these PRs touched almost all the frontend files (197 to be precise) it was necessary to merge them before the GSoC coding period starts to avoid merge conflicts.

Apart from that, I also analysed every page that we have, and identified the elements which are causing the delay in page loading. I'll start working on improving them now

And synced with holycow23 on his project.

Last week I finished off the last remaining bits of the Bootstrap 5 migration (apart from one detail I missed and pushed to prod, to be fixed this week).

I also finished an old PR in progress to update to Typescript 5, which took a bit of fiddling to remove or tweak antiquated webpack configuration

So we're now in a position to get more complicated features working in the template

However, in trying to get edits to work I discovered that my matrix server isn't sending 'related' events down, so I've got to debug that before edits/reactions work properly

Also worked on a more flexible approach of handling runtime permissions in the Android app.

last week I fixed an issue causing an interruption in the incremental json dumps, and once those caught up, ran the schema change on the json dumps DB & triggered a new full dump

also fixed an error in the search-indexes-dump script and synced a couple missing dumps to FTP

after being down in the dumps, the solrcloud cert randomly expired late on tuesday so I hotfixed the MBS containers to get searches working until zas appeared

later in the week I was reviewing a couple musicbrainz-docker things, nuking more spammers, and working a lot on MBS-11889 which is blocking the React v19 upgrade

was off on monday so was a short week, that's all for me

the latest logs only show the container restarted, can you run the compact listens command again and see what is logged

What is the comapct listens command?

./develop.sh manage spark request_compact_listens

the incremental stats workflow expects a set of base listens (full dump) and a set of incremental listens to work with. every few days the compact listens command is run so that the incremental listens are combined with the base listens to form the new base listens on top of which new incremental listens can be imported. basically it helps with eliminating redundant computations in stats.

currently it expects the base listens to exist and doesn't work with just incremental listens. i'll update it so that it can work with just incremental listens too.
