Are we doing AI pictures now? I figured the capybara was a one-off, so whatever, but even with tongue-in-cheek captions it's a turn off for me

Just had a user report that MB emails are being marked as spam on Fastmail

Not sure if there's anything we can do about it, if it's because of our volume/email similarity?

Or people hitting 'spam' instead of 'unsubscribe'.... I imagine

Site note, if someone uploads a SVG to static. we could also set a BIMI record to get a profile icon in clients that support unauthenticated records - something like `default._bimi.musicbrainz.org. IN TXT "v=BIMI1; l=https://static.metabrainz.org/MB/logo-square.svg; a=; avp=personal;"`

getting that to work in gmail is a $120 annual subscription though 🫠

<Jade[m]> "However there's no DMARC set" <- as in pure lack of a DMARC record, or say, DMARC alignment failures?

and yeah, all the public pricing i can find for the certs BIMI requires (and there are apparently [only 3 CAs](https://bimigroup.org/vmc-issuers/) issuing them, lol) is nuts, on the order of like $1K+/year

and back to the issue aerozol highlighted: a quick poke at [gmail's docs](https://support.google.com/a/answer/174124?… indicates that they require SPF, DKIM, *and* DMARC if you send over 5K emails a day to personal gmail users in order to expect normal delivery/visibility, and i imagine we meet or exceed that threshold lol

zas: you and i are in a google group dmarc@ that should receive aggregate reports every so often with the results of DMARC alignment checks by receiving email servers
