I spent some time setting up a VM test environment to help test my WIP Ansible role for installing and managing CrowdSec. The aim is to provide support for a multi-server configuration, so that when one MeB server detects an abusive IP (e.g. for SSH brute force attacks) it is banned on all servers.

The extra co-ordination required to delegate registration of new hosts adds a fair amount of complexity to the role, however this approach is likely to be useful in future such as for configuring and managing Borg backups.

last week i worked on spark side for chinmay's recent releases project.

also debugged some issues with the mbid mapping writer issues and answered related queries on forums.

worked with alastairp on updating CB and LB to Flask 2.

discussed with mayhem on adding a new data store for short lived data (instead of storing it in PG)

and finally did some work on adding mbids to now playing tracks on the frontend.

I merged and released some of ansh's CB patches, in addition to the flask2 upgrade that lucifer mentioned

I met with monkey and ansh to help plan ansh's project, and I did the same today with Pratha-fish

I put some plans in motion with zas to start capturing a bit more http access logs for CB so that we can see who is accessing it and what pages (likely that most of it is the MB webserver)

I've been working on the AB shutdown - including stopping accepting submissions, and moving it to flobot, a new server auction server to free up rack space where frank is currently

tonight I'll do a trial copy of the database from one machine to the other. moving AB will allow us to keep the API running until the end of this year

I also did some LB reviews for lucifer

I think that's it. zas next?

Last week I finally merged MeB guidelines for RabbitMQ usage and worked on following these.

I reviewed some MBS PRs and lucifer’s patches to ugprade SQLAlchemy version in SIR.

Added a database-only mirror setup to the MusicBrainz Docker Compose project.

Got some feedback about it that helped with addressing issues.
