santiagofn: Making elements, including font size, bigger is definitely on the cards. One of the reasons I have wrapped it into the redesign is because I imagined it causing issues if we just plug it into the current layout - but if bitmap/yvanzo want to let you try it out on test (or you can do it on a different instance) or something then why not! Like reosarevok, I use MB zoomed inon my browser - 125% here.

santiagofn: tbh changing everything to 14px actually works okay, just testing now… I would say the biggest job will be to check the many many pages and make sure nothing is breaking or going into 2 lines in a breaking/ugly/annoying way. 16px is creating more issues imo.

santiagofn: that Redesign roadmap ticket I linked is the ‘current’ one, but it is in no way final. It was going through lots of community feedback stages, and still has to go through more. And then once it’s been more or less worked out I will try and mock up all the other MB pages… but if you can split out elements that can be implemented on the current site, let me know, and I’ll do what I can to help. while fetching the db
      • 2023-04-24 11430, 2023

      • yvanzo
can you give the exact command line?
      • 2023-04-24 11434, 2023

      • akshaaatt
        `sudo docker-compose run --rm musicbrainz createdb.sh -fetch`

I guess it wasn't your first attempt
      • 2023-04-24 11410, 2023

      • yvanzo
        `sudo docker-compose run --rm musicbrainz recreatedb.sh`
      • 2023-04-24 11418, 2023

      • akshaaatt
        Right

akshaaatt: sudo isn't required on MacOS
      • 2023-04-24 11444, 2023

      • akshaaatt
        it is..
      • 2023-04-24 11448, 2023

      • yvanzo
The above ^ will drop the current DB and reuse already fetched dumps to create it from a blank sheet.
      • 2023-04-24 11403, 2023

      • akshaaatt
I mean it doesn't allow for most of the things then
      • 2023-04-24 11415, 2023

      • akshaaatt
Ohh if you mean in this context, then yeah I suppose

akshaaatt: randomly running stuff as root is bad™
      • 2023-04-24 11423, 2023

      • yvanzo
yes, `sudo` is in the documentation to make it work for most platforms, but it isn't required if your user is part of `docker` group (for example).
      • 2023-04-24 11448, 2023

      • akshaaatt
        Makes sense atj and yvanzo
      • 2023-04-24 11451, 2023

      • atj
perhaps we should be more explicit about that in the docs
      • 2023-04-24 11447, 2023

      • yvanzo
Having your personal account with `docker` group is bad too, if not worse.

aerozol: would you do the same changes as santiagofn proposed in https://github.com/metabrainz/musicbrainz-server/… ? I guess that would mostly keep the proportions everywhere
