lucifer (IRC) I wanted to ask for some help. So im working on importing playlists from Spotify. Regarding fetching the tracks, im kinda confused. So once I get the tracks from Spotify in json, how can i put them into LB? I checked the code, still didnt figured it out :( (should i use def _convert_spotify_play_to_listen(play, listen_type) function? what should i do next?)
      • im sorry if thats too much questions
      • aerozol
ApeKattQuest: Sure, we can do it manually. If unavoidable :)
      • ApeKattQuest
don't worry about it, questions are what we're here for

aerozol: but hat's how it's done with release/RG etc credits, there is no other way
      • basically the logic bhind renames asking for renames should be the same on AC on release/rg and relationships
      • that way it won't be confusing if/whn thy act differntly
      • aerozol
If the UI can’t be done without it being confusing I agree, simple is best
      • ApeKattQuest
I mean I get what you're thinking that if i explisitly set the Ac as something that's a typo or whatever becasue that's what it is and it so happens that that's the same as the current artsitn name
      • that it would be neat if there was a way to say "no, this is rly the name"
      • aerozol
        Yeah that was my thinking
      • ApeKattQuest
but there is currently no such thing for release/rg ac either :)

      • aerozol
Releases tend to always have a pretty explicit credit, so I figure it’s a bit different. But I acknowledge that I’m adding complexity that might hold back what is an improvement overall

mayhem: jasje: I don’t know about the spotify wrapped team, but I do not something about the regional marketing teams employed for wrapped… HUGE effort. Custom campaigns/billboards/posters/digital for a huge amount of countries. Local teams required for most (and a few spots of trouble with weird translations etc where they didn’t do that haha)

      • Pratha-Fish GG for the OSS sessions
      • I then fought the LB test suite and dug deeper into some recurring modal test issues, now I know how to fix simialr tests in the future
      • I finished working on the new LB homepage
      • Helped debug an issue preventing login in the LB android app
      • And reviewed some PRs
      • That's about it for the big stuff !

      • This week I have continued working on my cueshit to support more formats as input or output.
      • rimskii[m]
reosarevok: Thank you! what time the meeting will be? (its currently 12am in my timeline, soooo)
      • kellnerd
        rimskii[m]: now
      • While trying to implement these parsers and formatters, I have probably overengineered my catch-all duration/timestamp formatting function :D
      • But hey, it's working and less redundancy = good
      • rimskii[m]
kellnerd: lmao i thought its gonna be via videochat
      • kellnerd
Other than that, I did a bunch of MB editing, voting and tagging a few more releases with Picard. Now that I'm using LB there is no more excuse for files without MBIDs :P
      • rimskii[m]: Want to go next?
      • rimskii[m]

      • for prev week i was trying to test export playlist features to soundcloud and apple music, but well I need to get 100$ for apple dev account and soundcloud dont give their api keys anymore, so im trying to contact them via email

      • Last week it was mostly about coding tools to convert Picard V2 plugins to V3
      • that's still early, but phw and I start to actually code stuff related to that, see https://github.com/phw/picard/blob/plugins-v3/P... for more details

      • fin. go yvanzo[m]!
      • yvanzo[m]
        Hi!
      • Last Friday I released the new version of MusicBrainz Server with the cache improvements that bitmap just mentioned.
      • The companion MusicBrainz Docker release has a fix for a blocking issue in build.
      • As aerozol mentioned earlier, we have had two calls in the week for setting up MB Server (in development mode and without search) on his Windows host.
      • It was mainly based on my previous call with lucifer, but there are some differences.
      • So we still have to investigate those for a reliable documentation.
