Hey monkey: i was working on navidrome ui and needed your suggestion unlike funkwhale this time we have 3 user input `host_url`, `username` and `password` so basically when a user is connected to funkwhale or navidrome we are displaying host_url in they connected to and same for username! we cant display password so i'm thinking we should hide the password field similar to how we hide the warning? if we keep password placeholder

empty or display `connected` etc wont look nice so i'm thinking of hiding when its connected? what you say? it lgtm!

bitmap and perhaps others: is barman still in active use? if so, i'd like to look into getting authentik's postgres db (docker container as part of the compose file provided by authentik) backed up

ditto for libretto once we have a prod instance up and running

<julian45[m]> "bitmap and perhaps others: is..." <- yup, the barman container on aretha is still used, built from [docker-postgres-cluster](https://github.com/metabā¦. the build scripts there assume they're only working with nodes in the main cluster though, so it's probably easiest to just store some static config files in docker-server-configs or elsewhere and copy them into the container

hmmm... on one hand, would be nice to have backups for this db managed from same pane-of-glass (so to speak) as prod app servers, but on the other hand, that's a compartmentalization violation since it mixes private data (that of our staff auth environment) with "customer" data (that of MeB service users)

and the db itself, at least for this, should not live with prod apps, both as a compartmentalization violation & relative latency compared to having it run on same host & compose project as authentik

That's helpful. You can disable all of the stuff with Apple, but they're actually things that we all should do (use our own secure DNS server, low app privileges, channeling requests into API) but they're erring on the side of less sophisticated users (okay, less paranoid) and that's fine, but it's gone far enough from it's BSD roots (with no updates to darwin in a long time) that it's more of an appliance than anything.

Before 15.5 (no longer supporting intel chipsets) you could get moderately close to using Linux style configs and brew to do what you wanted and not have to worry about messing too much with the backend. So, I'm going to try the QT Designer on Mac, but will move over to a full fresh install of python on the debian machine since I can just blow away the installation if I fat-finger something š
