OK, but you wanted ones with multiple release *dates*
let me see about getting that
kepstin
hmm, releases which happened on different dates in different regions used to be fairly common, but in the modern internet and social media age i guess that's getting pretty rare

derwin: OK, got the results. Yes, there are quite a few.
so.. it was added at 2020-08-21, but has grouped release dates from 2003, 2004 (2), 2005 (4), 2011 (2), 2012 (4), etc.
so the API returned those different dates, all on one date.

bleh, sorry paste
and then no release date for some countries?!?!?!
JesseW
that's indeed very werid
There are only 32 releases with 3 or more different years.
kepstin
does anyone know if there is a way to find out when a particular release got added to spotify or itunes?
kepstin has a release where his best guess for the digital streaming availability was sometime in 2018, but all the big online streaming sites list the original cd release date of 2013 :/

Hi! Not sure if this will work, but I see y'all are discussing some digital releases that I added with different dates, etc. There was a time when I was really trying to pay attention to the dates that Apple Music, iTunes, Deezer & Spotify all first were available in certain countries. I have created a Word file with all the dates first available.
I did this so that releases from 2004 that were on iTunes wouldn't show up in say Suriname as the same year. That Dave Brubeck release is a prime example of this. All those dates are earliest dates of the 3 linked sites for each country. It's very time consuming as you can imagine.
So, no. The dates are not from the API. The earliest date is from the API. All the dates after that are from first availability date of 1 of the major 3 sites. This still isn't 100% as it the releases may have been on services other than iTunes, Spotify or Deezer. This is evident by Jaxsta showing many of these as released in countries that
a-tisket is saying the 3 sites don't have the release.
Also, I don't 100% rely on the API as many dates are wrong there as well. I check Soundexchange against the barcode to see when a barcode was first made avaialable.
Oh, the release dates not being on some countries is due to the fact that Deezer's API returned those counties as available, but those countries aren't listed on Deezer's availability list. So, it was released in those countries by Deezer according to their API, even though their website (https://developers.deezer.com/guidelines/countries) says
Deezer is not there.

"api is wrong, soundexchange says something different"
finalsummer: also, definitely perspective on "the API says" !
