Thanks to alastairp, monkey, and ruaok for their welcome!
I will be fully back by the end of the week.

Hi everyone !
Last week I deployed this summer's GSoC project to beta.bookbrainz
A few things left to tweak but it's already working nicely
I refactored a bunch of ListenBrainz components with a view to make more pages playable
for the latter I wrote some automated tests which found a few minor issues, then deployed it to a slave instance for test.mb on aretha, which is replicating fine after some minor fixes
tandy[m] joined the channel
other than that I mostly did code review
fin. lucifer go!
ruaok
lucifer: might be busy with school.
Freso
ruaok: Go. :)

last week was data gulag time, working on adding artist_mbids to the MBID mapping. that work is done, but needs to be released, which is going to be tedious and tricky.
then I spent time accounting and paying people (accounting gulag).
thankfully I got that done earlier today, so it wasn't too bad.
I'm just a bit stunned that we have more than half a million in the bank. turns out a lot of people paid us this year, inflating this years numbers, when the next year is going to be a bit thinner.
still, nice to not be in money trouble, allowing us to focus on our work.

You're doing good work, MeB team!
ruaok
I reviewed some PRs too and am still working out how to deal with the LE cert expiring and how to get tests to pass. good fun.
zas?
zas
Hey
I did usual upgrades, supervision, user support
also made few alerts quieter
Picard PRs reviews
I also analyzed CAA redirects logs, since that's half of our hits
ruaok
half.
still, that was to be expected. but its a sign that the CAA is a success
zas
I just deployed a microcache using ramdisk, that improve things nicely
it reduced load on backends by 50%
also reduce load on pink postgresql
ruaok
niiiice. just for CAA?
zas
and reduce load on kiki too ;) while reducing internal network traffic by 30%
it shouldn't have any drawback

You're doing good work, zas!
ruaok
what is the time interval on the cache?
alastairp
could be interesting to analyse stats on AB for a similar cache, although the responses are significantly large
ruaok
+! to that.
zas
that's it for me. Freso ?
Freso
o/
ruaok
+1 even.
AB was sucking more traffic than I was expecting
zas
alastairp: I'll have a look
ruaok
we should move the gateways to AX41-NVMe, I think.
hexa-core (12 threads), which is great.
Freso
So, last week I most dealt with reports/flags and was around and about. I also provided a bit of feedback on reosarevok's MBS-11986 PR.
As you know, I was also a bit under the weather, so kept activity a bit low. :x Hopefully able to crank up activity more again this week.
(On that note: I have dentist appointment tomorrow. I should be able to do some work before that though.)

Last week I continued work on converting JS to TS in Acousticbrainz, and got some advice from monkey on how to improve the integration of js frontends in AB to be more like LB
I reviewed jasondk's PR on CB for bulk get of reviews
After a quick discussion with lucifer we found that there was a good functionality in sentry that would allow us to trace how much time was spent in DB access in our views, so I took a look at upgrading sentry to a newer version compared to my upgrade of a few weeks ago.
I did some academic paperwork, then for the end of the week I took a holiday and rode my bike for a bit
reosarevok: next!
reosarevok
Hi!
I mostly worked on improving our Perl code, getting rid of unused variables and stuff like that
Freso
(Only akshat and CatQuest left on my list. Last call for anyone else who want to give review!)
reosarevok
And then I had a couple days of rest at the end of the month
Because rest is important :)
And then I released the server today. Not quite sure yet what else on this week's schedule
I don’t think we have a CatQuest, so I think this is it for reviews this week. :)
Thank you everyone who gave reviews!
reosarevok: dead link collection
Is this still a thing we need to talk about? :)
reosarevok
What were we supposed to discuss?
Iirc it was that if someone had more comments they could give them?
Freso
Rob mentioned that he’d look at them later, I think, but yeah.
I guess that that’s topic done then. :)
