IRC is horribly outdated and while the team makes this workable with IRCCloud, others don't have access to IRCcloud to make it less sucky.

if we can do the thing so that those who want to can connect via irc i'd prefer that. if that could be done i hve no opinion of the "main" whatever being somthing else

someone has a solution for it. we just need to do it ourselves.
