vibhoo_24: best to ask monkey when he is around later today.
      • 2023-01-19 01924, 2023

      • alastairp
mayhem: not sure if you saw, a few days ago vibhoo_24 was asking if there were any tasks that they could pick up on troi
      • 2023-01-19 01904, 2023

      • alastairp
vibhoo_24: thanks for trying out troi. this week mayhem has been writing more documentation. you could look at what he has done so far
      • 2023-01-17 01728, 2023

      • alastairp
vibhoo_24: in fact, yes. one thing that we have pending for this week is actually to make sure that the documentation for how to set it up and run it is up to date
      • 2023-01-16 01654, 2023

      • alastairp
vibhoo_24: interesting. so there's definitely an error happening somewhere in one of the static files
      • 2023-01-16 01642, 2023

      • alastairp
vibhoo_24: ok, and can you do `./develop.sh logs static_builder` and put that in gist? Doesn't need to be all of it, maybe the last 50 lines or so
      • 2023-01-16 01614, 2023

      • alastairp
vibhoo_24: what is the output of `./develop.sh ps` ? you can paste it to gist.github.com and just paste the url here
      • 2023-01-16 01652, 2023

      • alastairp
vibhoo_24: that's not bad, almost there!

Just a heads up to jasje_, jivte_, vibhoo_24, and others that you can add yourself to (and remove from) my list at https://wiki.musicbrainz.org/User:Freso/MetaBrain… or add notes such as being away for a period like CatQuest has currently if you wish to be on the list of regulars to call for reviews. :)

      • lucifer
vibhoo_24: it was choosing the wrong set of the endpoints, adding query params to some endpoints which accepted none, and the response body description of most endpoints was incorrect.
      • 2023-01-13 01336, 2023

      • lucifer

      • alastairp
vibhoo_24: at a guess, the following happened: 1) when you first ran the command, couchdb (one of our databases) started up and tried to configure itself, it tried to create a user account for the db but ran out of disk space before it could do so. 2) when you start it up again now, the first thing it does is tries to look for the user account that should be created, but fails because it cannot find it
      • 2023-01-13 01353, 2023

      • alastairp
vibhoo_24: this might be a side-effect of you initially running out of disk space, which unfortunately isn't very easy to work out the solution of if you don't know how our environment works, let me see if I can identify a solution
      • 2023-01-13 01359, 2023

      • alastairp
vibhoo_24: looks like you might need to tell docker desktop to assign more disk space to docker
      • 2023-01-13 01355, 2023

      • alastairp
vibhoo_24: when sending information to us that is text, it's much easier for us to read and work with when it's text, not an image. In the future could you copy and paste the text directly to a site like gitst.github.com?
      • 2023-01-13 01335, 2023

      • alastairp
vibhoo_24: you can also try this by running the docker commands manually, you can check what "docker pull docker.io/metabrainz/python:3.10-20220315" out of the context of running develop.sh
      • 2023-01-13 01350, 2023

      • alastairp
vibhoo_24: it could also be that docker is rate-limiting your requests, which they do quite aggressively. you can try and improve this by signing up for an account at https://hub.docker.com/ and signing in on your computer (it looks like you're on a mac, so you should be able to just sign in using docker desktop)

vibhoo_24: "Service unavailable" sounds like an internet connection issue. Maybe try again and see if you get a better result? How is your internet connection or proxy situation? Could is cause issues like that?
      • 2023-01-12 01234, 2023

      • lucifer
vibhoo_24: yes, mostly but the UI can be improved. aerozol, monkey: thoughts on how it should look like?

vibhoo_24: what did you pass as the release mbid?

ok, I'll write a follow up email. vibhoo_24: we'll need some time to understand what was proposed before we can suggest it to you. sit tight.

      • mayhem
lucifer: after answering your question for vibhoo_24 , I thought of a specific machine learning task: Remember the genre inferring project where Norman suggested that we get GPT-3 to do the inferrence? That could be interresting.

      • lucifer
vibhoo_24: do you want to work on a frontend ticket? it will need knowledge of react and typescript.

      • lucifer
vibhoo_24: yup, looking for suitable tickets currently

      • lucifer
vibhoo_24: i looked into it somewhat and it seems we cannot autogenerate it reliably for now. instead we will have to rewrite the docs and then we can add an extension to parse docs to get openapi spec.
