How frequently is https://listenbrainz.org/similar-users/ supposed to be updated? I see some accounts that I deleted several days (over a week?) ago that are still showing up.
did we want to add a checkbox for allowing commercial use of the review? Or should it just default to yes?
lucifer
i think its the latter, we had discussed about the license in the last summit. but ruaok can confirm about that
jasondk
I see
ijc has quit
ijc joined the channel
lucifer
also, i looked at the recordings review and artist rating support PRs. both look ready to me. there's the open comment about the most correct release but i don't think we should let it block this feature.
so we could get the modal functional with the api calls
lucifer
yes makes sense
ruaok: can you please add the above PR to your list?
ruaok
1565?
lucifer
yes
ruaok
K
lucifer
thanks
jasondk
we just need to get the cb token passed to the react context iirc
ruaok
ah, sorry. I nearly had finished the review. let me continue.
lucifer
right, i'll add that to global context.
Freso
lucifer, ruaok: It seems we have at least a couple of cases of people have 2 accounts that are both linked to the same Spotify and thus submitting listens in that way. Would it make sense to implement a check whether a given Spotify account is already linked to another LB one when doing that whole thing to ensure that one Spotify account is only ever used to submit listens to one LB account?
jasondk
👍
ruaok
Freso: that question is more for lucifer and alastairp
lucifer
that sounds like a reasonable restriction to me but it may need some extra perms from spotify.
Freso
lucifer: I guess I’ll make a ticket and you can look into it more. :D
lucifer
i'll check and see what permissions are required and if we want to request those from users.
reosarevok: yvanzo: let's talk MB stuff in 15 minutes?
reosarevok
Works for me
bitmap
akshaaatt[m]: we should be going over your homepage stuff too soon
if you're around and would like to attend :)
akshaaatt[m]
Hi bitmap !
So far I've had a lot of opinions from the community regarding what features they would like retained and emphasized on regarding the MusicBrainz homepage.
[bookbrainz-site] 14MonkeyDo closed pull request #681 (03master…dependabot/npm_and_yarn/bookbrainz-data-2.12.0): chore(deps): bump bookbrainz-data from 2.10.0 to 2.12.0 https://github.com/bookbrainz/bookbrainz-site/p...
yvanzo
bitmap: ok :)
akshaaatt[m]
Hi yvanzo reosarevok !
bitmap
akshaaatt[m]: hey! I'll skim that thread, thanks
akshaaatt[m]
I had shared a rough design sketch of how I imagined the front page to be for now.
Regarding getting started, I think a word from the team would be good for me.
To have a feel regarding the design and structure first, I was planning to work it in React and serve it for testing to the team by the starting of September. Once agreed upon, I would start incorporating it with musicbrainz-server
bitmap
yup, I have that sketch open
makes sense. I think we'll start with a different topic first and then chat about the homepage in a bit
akshaaatt[m]
Sure
bitmap
reosarevok: yvanzo: hi
reosarevok
Hi!
bitmap
before we look at the homepage/prs and whatnot I wanted us to chat about development a bit
akshaaatt[m]
Sure
reosarevok
Why not!
bitmap
right now we all have our own little development bubbles and I was hoping we could figure out a plan to cross-train better -- e.g. a bit more time spread across MBS, search issues, docker
ruaok
+1 to that!
bitmap
rather than focusing in specific areas
akshaaatt[m]
Right
ruaok
FWIW, the pythonbrainz side of things does a lot of this since lucifer and alastairp are looking after 3 projects.
having 3 projects in the same language obviously makes things easier.
bitmap
yeah. having a common language is definitely a plus
reosarevok
Well, I don't necessarily focus on a specific area, I just jump around, but I'd certainly like to know more search stuff and whatnot
bitmap
I guess the issue for us is perl + java + python, heh
ruaok
what bits are in java?
reosarevok
Python I kinda do ok with. Java, not so much
bitmap
ruaok: mb-solr, I think
reosarevok
Even though my vocational school internship was in Java, lol
ruaok
that is what I used to think, but then I was corrected that its all python, no?
