This is a real dumb question - what is the difference between ‘recommendations’ and ‘collaborations’ in LB?
Hmm when I make a collaborative playlist it didn’t show up on my Collaborations tab, but it did show up on my collaborator’s. So it is kinda what I thought it was for
Is this new, or have I just not listened to the playlists enough before: “Youtube player error: The request cannot be completed because you have exceeded your <a href="/youtube/v3/getting-started#quota">quota</a>“
lucifer
huh weird we should have a high enough quota now to not hit this
That was quicker than expected… glad employees can still stand up for themselves
monkey: I did a big push on the LB mockups today, lots of stuff for you to comment on if you feel like it! I think we’re getting close to something we could roll out (still mobile mockups to do after these have been signed off - settings and info pages etc don’t really have to change/have mockups, but haven’t looked yet)

zas: hi, what do you think about doing a Picard 2.8.4 bugfix release next week?
I also think we should do a 2.9 release the next weeks. The Qt6 things are not as stable as I had wanted them to be, and we need to do something about the player bar also. So delay the Picard 3, but do a 2.9 with all the changes over the summer, especially skelly37's work
mayhem: this Twitter mess reminded me to be thankful that we run a non-hardcore project where people are allowed and encouraged to have a life, so thanks for that! #softcoreengineering
Also yay, snow on the ground!

O’Moin
mayhem
moooin!
thanks reosarevok. that means a lot to me. ❤️
and yes, watching twitter implode is really WTF to watch.
aerozol: monkey : lucifer : Thi swas the result of SF Music Hack Day in 2012 -- a plug in for spotify that automatically trawled APIs for relevant info to the current track playing. inspiration for the metadata viewer, really.
I've been wanting this tool/view for well over 10 years!
mayhem: about do not recommend this entity, should we have do not recommend until field defaulting to never again?
reosarevok
Also, you should have a way to change your mind later :)
lucifer
yup definitely, thats added. currently we have a never recommend again option and a way to unset that option,
wondering if we should an in-between, that don't recommend again for a week/month etc
anyways, i guess we can add that later if needed. not a blocker for first version
mayhem
lucifer: yes, lets do that.
lucifer
mayhem: yes to add now or add later?
mayhem
now.
lucifer
👍
mayhem: also auto delete 'do not recommends` that have now expired or retain in db forever?
mayhem
I'm trying to think if we could ever use this data, but I can't see a reason. so lets autoexpire for now, if we need to keep the data, we'll turn that off.
mayhem: re the update msid process, an issue. we have a unique index on (user_id, recording_msid) and another on (user_id, recording_mbid). say 2 msids of the user resolve to the same mbid, the update will fail.
another possible scenario, user submitted feedback once using mbid and another time using msid, now we add the mbid to the msid row as well and it fails due to unique index.
yvanzo
reosarevok: Done, reviewed a few other URL-related PRs too.
reosarevok
Thanks! I'll amend based on your comments (lol, I really didn't pay attention to not needing to capture artist, but it's so obvious now :D )
yvanzo
Leave artist alone!
lucifer
the only solution so far i could come with is dropping the unique index on recording_mbid column.
[listenbrainz-server] 14amCap1712 opened pull request #2259 (03master…fix-filter-artist-credit): Revert "Use artist_credit_id instead of artist mbids for artist credit filtering" https://github.com/metabrainz/listenbrainz-serv...
lucifer
mayhem, should i kill the active requests to update the cluster with the fix or wait for those to finish?
mayhem
Kill em.
alastairp
mayhem: yeah, I saw the tailscale stuff yesterday, that looks like they've single-handedly replaced ngrok
lucifer: in my account on kiss is request _sets.py or some such. Can you please sourxe that? I'm afk.
lucifer
👍
mayhem: for when you around again, i think it makes sense to request twitter data archives for official MeB accounts. for just in case.
alastairp
lucifer: good idea. password is in syswiki
I just added some notes to the page listing the recovery email address - sometimes twitter asks for it when you log in
lucifer
alastairp: yes i already tried. it wants a verification code from some email. i am guessing its twitter@listenbrainz.org ?
alastairp
lucifer: I just added that one :) in fact it doesn't need a verification code, it just needs to know that you know the email, as another verification step
ah, maybe your country is marked as exceptionally likely to be scammy :) when I log in to LB it says "please enter the email address associated with this account"
lucifer
reosarevok: ^ MB ?
alastairp
I'll do it
lucifer
ah yes, possible.
thanks alastairp!
reosarevok
alastairp: are you doing MB you mean?
alastairp
reosarevok: I'm doing AB/CB
reosarevok
Oh, ok
Not sure we have anything valuable to archive tbh but eh
I'll try
alastairp
it'd be nice to have a record of the tweets at least
reosarevok
It did ask me to verify as well fwiw
"We received your request. To protect your account, it can take 24 hours or longer for your data to be ready."
Ok then
alastairp
the poor data access microservice will be overwhelmed
unless its been shut down 🤣
yvanzo: bonjour (I'm trying to fit in to montreal)
