Depends if it's open to all IPs or not. Opening it up == bad security,

since we can't update scooby.

So, not a problem, for whitelisted IP ranges.

ruaok: vpn client is built into osx and works a treat, I use it to connect to my uni network. I dunno about setting it up on a server though

in ngs, there are release_groups and releases. However, in the (old/current) MB web client, there seems to be some logic that groups releases with the same tracks together on a single page ( http://musicbrainz.org/release/4800c809-f22f-4a... ).

email address is a pretty good unique identifier I guess

So, the VPN is openvpn, for which packages exist on Debian and download is available for Windows.
