meh. the gimp is really picky about what I can "save" and what I have to "export"

I opened a png to crop it for a front, tried to save it as another png and it was like "no! you have to export it!"

yeah, it's annoying

that's a recent change too IIRC

they shouldn't use macs as inspiration

I also need to figure out how to make this file dialog stop showing recent files by default, because it's just confusing

nikki: Well, depends on your really picky. You can only save/save as .xcf (or whatever Gimp's format is), any other formats have to be "exported". So you could say it's "picky", but at least it's consistent. (I haven't gotten used to it either.)

Looks like it was a good idea waiting a bit with adding TheSession to code - they've just completely redesigned the site, including the favicon!

Freso: it's really irritating, because I very very very rarely want a .xcf file

and every time I close the image it's like "you haven't saved it!!! D:"

and that's even worse, because I'm even more likely to close something after forgetting to save (sorry, export) it, because I've already started to just automatically click "close without saving"

and please pay a bit more attention :/ you removed the back cover after entering that edit, so you were clearly on the cover art page, yet failed to notice that there were three images when you'd only uploaded two nor that one of them wasn't working

it's bad enough having to clean up after newbies all the time without having to chase auto-editors too

alternatively, fix the bug :P

nikki: yes, I need to figure a way for us to test the multi upload thing on internet archive servers. obviously testing it on my own fake ia/s3 is not good enough.

I would just put it on beta somewhere where you have to edit the url to get to it, but you probably wouldn't like that idea

yep, we have to restart the jetty process when it gets above 50% ram.

1st step that would really help me if you could do jstack jettyprocessid BEFORE you restart
