I noticed that the Replication Sequence Number skipped a number last night. (eg went from 74570 to 74572) and has not updated since 3am.

Does that sort of thing happen from time to time ?

One cannot enter URL like "http://www.discogs.com/artist/166729-Dominique-A", those are truncated by js to "http://www.discogs.com/artist/166729", leading to 404s if editor overlooks it.
so basically discogs urls are broken, editors (like me) may try to fix it, but it will not work, or they'll enter perhaps-broken-in-the-future discogs urls....
2014-01-29 02928, 2014
reosarevok
Just enter them normally

reosarevok
But either discogs will fix it, or we'll run a bot to fix it
2014-01-29 02949, 2014

So no big issue

you mean enter "http://www.discogs.com/artist/166729" for ""http://www.discogs.com/artist/166729-Dominique-A"

Sure, just don't think about it and let the js do whatever
2014-01-29 02913, 2014

It's not like it's not trivial for a bot to fix

the thing is that existing links to discogs return 404s

What do you want us to do, waste our time to go run a bot to add a - to every one so that when it's fixed we run a bot to remove it?
2014-01-29 02942, 2014
reosarevok
Just add a - to the link when opening it, we'll all live
2014-01-29 02953, 2014

It's not like so many people follow the links anyway tbh :p
2014-01-29 02921, 2014

Now, if discogs mail back saying "no, we totally think that's a good idea and won't change it", then we'll run that bot :)

reosarevok: is the difference between the general "has page in database" relationship and the more specific ones that the latter get special treatment when being displayed in the sidebar?

The main difference is the others are "smaller" databases and if we had an entry for each the dropdown would be an unwieldy mess

Ideally we'll un-merge them once there's some code to only display in the dropdown those relationships that aren't always autoselected
