in acousticbrainz we use SVM extensively

Yeah ... Since, still pursuing the course, Not a pro !

so, we're still getting on our feet in terms of what we're doing

but basically, we have over 1 million documents with features

of audio files

and we're looking at machine learning techniques for classifying things

By audio fingerprinting?

not specifically audio fingerprinting, but many of the building blocks that fingerprinting is based on

in music research it's called "lower-level features"

so FFTs, Spectrograms, etc

So, Is there some open issue i can work on? I would to play with the data and come up with some work around

not really - as I said we're just starting off

so open issues basically involve "anything you feel like doing"

we have some bug reports at http://tickets.musicbrainz.org/browse/AB, but these are mostly related to infrastructure, not tasks

we hope in the next few months to have more of a framework for suggesting tasks and evaluating them

(you can query MB with artist/title to get IDs)
