pg_ctl reload -D <location of PG db>

I changed /home/postgres/postgres9/pg_hba.conf

fyi the listen directive needed changing.

it needed to be * so it listened on all interfaces

looks like pg needs a real restart after that change.

restarted, confirmed that you can connect on .18 now

I don't if daemontools itself is appropriatly started on boot, but the service for the coverart archive exists and works on the currently running system.

ubuntu has two daemontools packages iirc; daemontools, which is the toolset; and daemontools-run, which arranges for svscan to start on boot

so, so far it's failing with chrome/safari on mac, and presumably opera on mac.

no errors, nothing abnormal.

I can boot up a windows xp virtual machine, but don't have a mac os x virtual machine yet :)

I could install firefox if you want another datapoint.

copy them over to a machine where you have the appropriate .ssh keys :)

(I do it by ssh-ing to carl as root; but I wouldn't recommend it)

your key has to be in root's auth keys for that, of course. And you need to ssh -A
