so far, no complaints and only small bits of feedback.
I'm hoping that will make my life a little easier since I seem to be falling behind and not really making headway on work related things.
i"ve asked the board to approve hiring that hippie ^H^H^H^H^H^HFreso.
Freso
Oh, snap. I forget it was Monday. Will it be a quick meeting?
ruaok
we'll see what they say.
:)
Freso: If you keep your mouth shut, maybe. :)
fin.
LordSputnik
Don't hire Freso, he always misses the start of meetings! :P
ruaok
Freso: Go
Freso shuts up
srsly
Freso
Well, nothing to report, really.
ruaok nudges bitmap to update his trello
Talked with ruaok a bit, as mentioned in the blog post. Nothing to report apart from that, I think.
fin.
bitmap
whoops
ruaok
too literal, sometimes, Freso. :)
reosarevok: you?
Freso
Oh, right. The chat logger. Not much progress on that, since things happened that distracted me, and I need to move a bunch of packages over from AUR3 to AUR4 before Saturday. fin fin.
ruaok
ok, who else is around? weeksio? dufferzafar?
weeksio_
I can go
ruaok
go
weeksio_
I indexed all entities in a solr search server on my sandbox, and solr is running.
Freso
(But it's running, just needs to get nginx set up and a plugin tweaked (which I think Leo_Verto has already done).)
weeksio_
I really wish a VM was suggested from the beginning. I feel like I wasted a bit of time trying to get this up on rika.
Freso shuts up now, again
ruaok
sorry, sometimes things come together in odd ways. :(
weeksio_
Thanks to ruaok for recognizing this and making the suggestion! And thanks to bitmap for helping me with rika...
rika needs to be retired or revamped. seems to be more trouble than its worth these days. :(
weeksio_
I'm working on a blog post to go along with a VM release that will include the solr search server.
reosarevok does all his work in rika, so hopefully not!
reosarevok
(also, I'm here now)
weeksio_
I will be more specific regarding where I am and what I'd like the community to test in that post.
We had house guests over the weekend so I didn't get any work done, but I should be relatively distraction free for the remainder of the GSoC program.
(I also have no plans to disappear following GSoC)
done
ruaok
not permanetly, I hope. :)
reosarevok: your turn
weeksio_
:-)
reosarevok did some support, chatted a bit in jira about style stuff, and was editing a lot and helping some newbies with classical
reosarevok
Also finished migrating this lyrics host that annoyingly changed all the URLs
That was basically it, I'd say
(also, I really wish I knew why msn/hotmail love to eat our verification mails - it's pretty much always them when there are issues)
ruaok
oh, yeah, I did a jira test import into their cloud setup. it died spectacurlarly.
ok, who else?
Gentlecat is here too
LordSputnik
ruaok: are they fixing that?
ruaok
they better, LordSputnik. as soon as I get the chance to promperly file a bug report.
actually...
Leo_Verto
otherwise an incremental upgrade might work
ruaok
can anyone thing of a reason why I couldn't just hand Leo_Verto a dump of Jira and let him work on it?
Leo_Verto
:P
ruaok
privacy issues come to mind.
but everything in jira is public, save for the email addresses.
reosarevok
Well, he's a core team member in BB, so how it's that different from giving it to, say, bitmap?
ruaok
so, it comes down to this: do we trust Leo_Verto with our email addresses?
reosarevok
(unless the being paid thing matters)
LordSputnik
bitmap is paid and contracted :P
ruaok
reosarevok: Leo_Verto isn't bound by a contract.
LordSputnik
I certainly trust Leo_Verto, but that's not speaking for everyone who's entered their email into JIRA
Gentlecat
doesn't it also have passwords?
Leo_Verto
well, you could just remove the email collumn and somehow re-add that lateron
ruaok
Gentlecat: likely.
LordSputnik
hopefully strongly hashed though
ruaok
well, the dump is an XML files.
I suppose I could parse them out and if that import works, do the final import with the email addresses in place.
let me have a look at the dump and see if I can sanitize it to make this easier.
feh. sometimes the CoC binds us uncessarily. :(
onward anways. Gentlecat: how about you?
Gentlecat
I merged core of dataset evaluation functionality
and made some tweaks to support python 3
that is in AcousticBrainz
also reviewed moderation stuff from dufferzafar for CB and deployed that
so now we have moderators and easier way to remove spam
done.
ruaok
\ΓΈ/
wrt to CB: I would love everyone to think about how we can raise the awareness that CB exists.
I have some ideas for when things calm down a little.
Gentlecat
maybe not a lot of people aren't so much interested in music reviews?
ruaok
ok, anyone else for review?
LordSputnik
I'll go
ruaok
go
LordSputnik
We made some good progress on BB this week, and there should be a release tonight, all being well :) It was going to be yesterday, but we decided to test and fix bugs before we release this time instead of afterwards :P
For those interested, when there are X's next to everything on this list: http://pastebin.com/mdY3nQ4a it'll be close to release time :)
This release will feature Lobes style, new homepage, revision viewing and deleting of entities
And some other tweaks and improvements
ruaok is looking forward to that.
done :)
ruaok
I'm meeting with monkey tomorrow to discuss what else needs finishing on the logo/design front.
LordSputnik
I PR'd some changes to the Lobes repo too
so alerts are clearer now, and buttons line up better with input fields
Other than that it's mostly fine, from what we've experienced
That reminds me, Gentlecat was asking about improving text in the logos
ruaok
MEB-10, reosarevok
reosarevok
heh, yeah, I was sending it when he posted it :)
ruaok
k, I'll bring all this up tomorrow.
k, what else?
I dont have any agenda items, since I'm still drowning in fallout from the past 3 weeks.
reosarevok
Not much from me. bitmap, I guess you didn't manage to look into this messaging thing?
Freso
Fallout hype!!!
ruaok
(and I dont expect that to improve very soon)
Freso
Wait, what?
Leo_Verto
well, can't you hand over some of that fallout to Freso now?
reosarevok
Freso: :D I'm installing Fallout 3 right now. I too read that :p
bitmap
reosarevok: not in the last week
reosarevok
Ok :)
ruaok
some, but there is only a few things that fit into his job description and that is already super packed.
reosarevok
Which reminds me, do I get a job description too? :p
ruaok
bitmap: judging by your todo list, you still have plenty to do in the next week, ya?
bitmap
yep, totally
reosarevok
I'm honestly not sure anymore which of the things I do are part of my actual job, and which parts are not (not that I would stop doing them anyway I don't think, but I'm still curious :p)
Freso
I need to run to the store... so I need to leave for a bit, probably won't be back before meeting's end.
bitmap
I'd like to focus on sitemaps this week to get it out of the picture
ruaok
I've got something that is part of your job: writing a job description. :)
