huh, apparently the decibel api includes musicbrainz "artist, album, and track" ids as foreign ids.

What I was working on was a system that doesn't store any data other than the recording and release MBID. All the other metadata is dynamically fetched from MB so it's always up to date

It was taking 12 seconds to view a page with four recordings due to the rate limit :p But caching dropped that down to a few ms.

some caching would be nice. :)

What's great is if everything is done via MBIDs then you can merge and dedupe librarys. As long as everything is tagged correctly initialled.
