I almost managed to get it complete, save 2 issues, which I could have done today... but decided to focus on some other more critical issues

(merging related, mainly)

it's been an ok week, though friday was a bit of flop

on the plus side, i'm starting to see that most of the issues I have left are either RE related, or mostly UI things

thats the kind of sign I've been hoping to see for a while.

i think that's all from me though... mostly just a steady week!

warp: my usual question. what is your overall confidence with the RE now?

ruaok: I solved a few crashes and a bunch of other issues with adding discs (MBS-1517) and preventing some tracklist edits when a discid is present (MBS-233)

ruaok: in that sense it's much better, the add disc stuff has selenium tests in that branch.

ok. if I can find the time to spend some quality time with it this week, I will.

ruaok: the issue I mentioned which need a new edit type (medium re-ordering) is causing a crash still, and there is still a known crash with importing freedb stuff

so, only 2 known crashes?

my week was waaay hectic.

I got all the machines done and racked.

the DB server is installed and has a converted DB running.

an index server is mostly configured.

a web server needs start up scripts and such.

but I'm hoping to have ngs.musicbrainz.org running tomorrow or wed.

there is one machine that is giving us issues. not sure what is up with that. but the raid card is very unhappu.

Hmm, not :D at that though

I took a short cut and installed linux using an identical card/machine onto the disks and then I moved the disks in the new machine.

and there is trouble. very odd.

after this I'm heading to DWNI to reinstall linux on that server

(sadly I'm 4 hours away from DWNI atm, but hey)

once I get ngs.mb.org up, I will probably convert new data and output a new data set.

and then next week I would like to do some live testing with the new site.

tee the access log to the new site and see what happens.

ijabz will also have a test tagger to put out for people to play with.

i'm not sure there's much to say in the meeting

paul's first comment doesn't quite understand what i proposed I think

which is that we *try* and do automatic matching based on track positions, names and stuff

but I'm not happy changing the way the RE duplicate stuff works to cater for seeding the RE, over new users working through the editor

should we organize a specific meeting to address this issue?
