I like how when you click on "recurring donation" that the donate with card gets grayed out.

It might be nice to add a litle text in gray underneath the buttons stating that for recurring donations that you can't use donate with card.

often times people can't get the editor name in correct and then wonder why the nag screen hasn't gone away.

the easiest way to do that is to see if http://musicbrainz.org/user/<username>; gives a 404 or 200.

don't forget though that that page loads the user's edit counts, which can be quite slow

requesting actual pages seems like an icky hack, but the only other things I can find are the editor search (which is a search, not a lookup)

there used to be an user API in /ws/1 but it required authentication, so not very useful for this purpose
