given that we're looking for things to pass to acid2, it makes sense for acid2 to finish it.
aCiD2
ey? I did it
wrong review maybe?
ruaok
no, brainfart.
nm. sorry.
aCiD2
:)
ruaok
plz to ignore that.
#facepalm
navap wonders why we don't have a facepalm unicode character
but we have SMILING CAT FACE WITH HEART-SHAPED EYES
and CAT FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY
ruaok rolls his eyes
aCiD2
hahaha, seriously?
navap
Oh wow, those are real characters!?
aCiD2
those can't be.
Ok, I'm thinking of the "appears on" page for artists
at the moment, that uses the release of everything as the year, but for l_artist_recording, that doesn't make sense - a recording has multiple releases
So I either don't bother with finding the year by release (and instead just display the recording and hope the begin date of the relationship is ok)
Storing first release data has been requested before, but that might be a post-NGS thing?
ruaok
good man. :)
navap
ruaok: Wow..
ruaok
aCiD2: it something that loads of people would like.
aCiD2
dunno, an hour or 2
it's not much more work
ruaok
hmmm, ok.
aCiD2
I'm already half way through the appearences table (it shows the recording/work/release/release group, but it'd be nicer to show just the release as it currently does)
ruaok
can you move that an any other schema changes to the top of your priority pile?
navap
Would you also store first release data for releases then?
ruaok
I would very much like to get all the schema changes finalized and freeze the schema.
navap: unless there is a compelling reason like what aCiD2 just said, then no.
aCiD2
navap: we already have that
well, it's in the release group
And my changes for that are in review
navap
Ah of course. So a tagger could easily obtain the first release date of a release if necessary.
aCiD2
yea, we have that in pre NGS too
it's just not exposed in the web service
ruaok can smell a feature request ticket coming
ARGH. Muscle by my album has been twitching all damn day
and it's getting annoying now
ruaok
album?
have you ever taken a yoga class?
aCiD2
umm
elbow
hehe
and no, I haven't taken a yoga class, I've done/read a little about yoga
ruaok
oh. you're whacking off too much. :)
aCiD2
haha
ruaok
tennis elbow.
anyone who sits at a computer for hours a day should be taking yoga classes.
aCiD2
agreed with you there
and it's not tennis elbow, that hurts
this is just a tiny muscle spasming
outsidecontext joined the channel
ruaok
because all the muscles around it are pissy. and that takes it out on the little guy
that's what the artist page is currently looking like, thoughts?
outsidecontext waves back
navap
aCiD2: IMO the table looks a bit odd.
aCiD2
not on your own there
hawke__
aCiD2: date range should use – instead of —
navap
I'm a fan of how the artist relationships at the top look.
Hey my favicons! :)
alastairp
aCiD2: you should take some time off
aCiD2
alastairp++
hawke__: which entity is that?
alastairp
it's seriously not worth working with bad arms
go see a physio
navap
aCiD2: The date range in the sidebar
aCiD2
navap: I said which html entity, not where is it :P
hawke__
aCiD2: en dash…
aCiD2
alastairp: mm, it's cause my chair is too low I'd imagine
or more, the desk is too high
hawke__
–
alastairp
I refuse to work at bad desks these days
aCiD2
alastairp: if I do that, I don't get paid
ruaok
aCiD2: you should fix that asap. lest it fuck your body up.
aCiD2
if I don't get paid, I die :)
i should
ruaok
I'm with alastairp on the ergonomically correct stance.
alastairp
arms 90 degrees at the elbow or I won't s work
aCiD2
I'm not at all against that, i don't have the means to get a new desk easily
no car, no where local, etc
alastairp
phone books
:)
ruaok
my desk is on 2x4 pieces of wood to elevate it to the right height.
aCiD2
the desk is too high, not low though
ruaok
looks a litlte ghetto, but it works right.
then your chair is too low.
aCiD2
no, because my feet are flat
ruaok
time for a saw. :)
aCiD2
and it doesn't go any higher anyway
the desk is on 3 legs because it's resting on a bit of the wall that juts out
which is a real bummer, because they are adjustable legs :(
ruaok
take the wall out.
aCiD2
but we've sawed that corner off now
ruaok
your 'rents will never noticed.
aCiD2
heh
ruaok
-d
hawke__
aCiD2: “founded: [label]” seems weird to me. I would expect founded: to be a date.
aCiD2
still missing a leg, which is kinda important :)
hawke__
Maybe “Label(s) founded:”?
ruaok
aCiD2: beer bottles
aCiD2
hawke__: ignore that, nikki is incharge of writing them
this is just my test data
i'm more looking at the display/layout
hawke__
k
What’s the favicions (aside from a spelling error)?
aCiD2
lol
that's just a bug, those 2 headers shouldn't be there
navap
aCiD2: I'm torn between whether or not to use a table. I think it looks funky to have a table, but the major advantage is that there's an easily readable artist column.
hawke__
aCiD2: I think perhaps the headings in the table should be swapped, with the darker heading for date/title/artist and the lighter for the individual appearance types.
navap
Several rows of 'Foo by Bar' just doesn't work as well because of the different lengths of text.
aCiD2
indeed
hawke__: can't really do that, it's used as a subheading in the tracklist too
(between mediums)
hawke__
aCiD2: Hmm. It just looks like a “more important” heading than the top-level heading.
aCiD2 nods
aCiD2
I'd say it is, too
alright, enough work for today
ruaok
I've got more output for you.
loooooads more. :-)
navap
What's the deal with Javascript::Closure? How do I get it installed?
