I think a VA is best, but if you feel that a feat. would be better, that is your call.
verus
thats me
hehe
hm
i just won't put it into musicbrainz yet
see if someone else will do it with more balls
ruaok
balls??
That would be my GF. Her last name is Balsz. :-)
verus
maybe skills
ruaok
She's got em too!
verus
haha
ruaok
No, seriously, just enter it as a VA.
verus
i know of a girl who's name is 'jenna' and her last name is thalls
ruaok
HAHAHAHAHA!
Scary what people will do to their kids.
verus
yea parents dont care because its not THEIR name
djce
ruaok: I like the new header*.gif images
ruaok
Thanks. You're the first person to mention it.
I think Erin will take a stab at making a better version.
djce
I'm not surprised, it's a nice but subtle change.
ruaok
The drop shadows on my version are all janky.
djce
I saw the CVS commits :-)
ruaok
:-)
djce
Did you see, and understand, my mail about voting changes?
ruaok
And it seems squished to the left a bit -- I'll have her nudge it more to the right to give it more space.
I read it briefly, but haven't taken the time to respond yet. Sorry.
ruaok reads

np
ruaok
Oh I remember, I had problems loading the page last time I checked.
djce
It's up now.
ruaok
The page still hasn't loaded.
In any case, two thoughts.
First, the 'no vote' option staying on top.
Could we somehow make them disappear for the time being and shuffle them to the end??
djce
(should be port 8080. Sorry, I didn't realise that port 80 only works on my loopback interface).
ruaok
np
djce
I did think of a "defer for /x/ days/hours" option
ruaok
I'm just considering the case where there are more than 1 page worth of 'no votes'.
djce
well, that's your cue to get your ass in gear and vote properly
ruaok
What if you want to stop the deferrement??
djce: fair enough.
djce
The "no vote" option, as it currently stands, is simple to understand, even if it's not the most advanced feature ever.
ruaok
Second thought: The not being able to see the votes before you vote was mainly done to prevent 'me too' voters.
djce
yup
ruaok
That is still in effect with the change vote feature.
djce
Currently I've set it so that you only get to see votes once the mod has closed.
or, it's your mod.
ruaok
People can change their mind and that is a matter of flexibility, not some conduit for laziness.
Its more work to change your vote than to 'me too' vote, so I think your new feature is fine.
djce
I'm not expecting many people to vote more than once.
ruaok
You mean change their vote??
djce
yes
ruaok
agreed.
In other words, I'm all for your suggestions.
djce
good :-)
I think I've finally fixed a whole slew of bugs today.
Missing triggers for albummeta, mainly.
Which means there's quite a (relatively) complex set of database updates next time round.
See ServerUpdateNotes.txt
ruaok
I saw all the commits. Seeing those messages makes me smile.
yeay.
djce
I'm thinking that all names of things like [silence] [data track] [untitled] [non-album tracks] should be kept out of the search indexes. What do you think?
ruaok
Sure.
But it would be nice to be able to query for them somehow.
djce
hmm. one to ponder.
ruaok
In your mail on text indexing:
Code changes: minimal (except that
> artist is renamed.
WHy would that be any different than what we're currently doing??
