_fatalis: they wouldn't, but often there are both original versions of albums in the database plus English transliterations for people that can't read Japanese
and considering some of the titles on that soundtrack it'd be amusing to see how they try to transliterate stuff like track 9's title
winamp can read shift-jis if you have your system and fonts setup right
but it can then only handle one code page at a time
so if you want Japanese and Chinese and Thai all displayed right you have to use unicode
and a player other than winamp
QCD and Foobar2000 both support unicode fine
_fatalis
yeah I understand
so how do I fix the tags to be in unicode?
Tag&Rename won't do, it can't even open a folder with japanese characters in its name
luks
tag them using picard
juhae
_fatalis: You're just running and old version of T&R
_fatalis
3.1.6
hmm yeah
downloading 3.2rc1
juhae
Tag&Rename v3.2 beta 1 (11/02/2004): added full Unicode support (file names, tags, drag and drop, etc.) on Windows NT/2000/XP/2003
rc2 is the latest
_fatalis
I don't understand how to tag with picard
juhae, rc2 hasn't been cracked yet
juhae
aha
Well, not my problem. No need for T&R after I found Picard
_fatalis
so how do I tag with picard?
"Sorry, there is no help file yet"
ojnkpjg
drag files to untagged
then click the cluster button
DJKC
drop the files on it, hit cluster, click the cluster, hit lookup, select the album from MB, drag the cluster on to it, hope it recognizes them, hit save
ojnkpjg
it only works well if you have some tags in the files already
DJKC
if it doesn't recognize them you'll have to drop each file onto it already
ojnkpjg
if not, look up something, it'll open the browser, and you can search an dmanually add albums
