and I want something that responds to me, not something that could do funky stuff if only it would stop lagging

Jetpack: it must be said though that most of the things that Firefox can do through extensions are in Opera from the start... and with everything fitting in 3 megabytes
      • 2006-02-02 03356, 2006

      • LjL
nikki_: many versions of Opera had a bad tendency of crashing on me though. on the other hand, the crash handler was so nice that you barely noticed
      • 2006-02-02 03317, 2006

      • nikki_
LjL: firefox crashes way more than opera for me, and opera actually remembers where I left off :)

      • Jetpack
opera, firefox, konquerer, its all good

nikki_: on Windows, firefox *very* rarely crashed here. perhaps a bit more on Linux, though i haven't used it much. with Opera, otoh, it depended on the versions... some were reasonably stable, but some were a chore
      • 2006-02-02 03331, 2006

      • nikki_
        hmm.

I don't use firefox on windows at all, too slow there too
      • 2006-02-02 03307, 2006

      • LjL
nikki_: i think there are crash handling extensions for Firefox as well, anyway. though i couldn't say if they really "actually remember where you left off" like opera does, or if they just try
      • 2006-02-02 03309, 2006

      • nikki_
I'm too used to opera's responsiveness, I guess

there are also mouse gestures for firefox, but they never seemed to work as well as opera's
      • 2006-02-02 03344, 2006

      • SenRepus
i mean, it worked with all you guys, but that was on accident

are the reliable? it sounds to me like you could easily, say, close pages by mistake by using the wrong gestures
      • 2006-02-02 03320, 2006

      • LjL
though that's just a gut feeling, as i've never tried them as i said
