I recorded this last night in Garageband. It is titled "Data." from the link given in the modnote

Mudcrow
although I would never vote yes to a NAT without a track time
2006-03-10 06923, 2006
Shepard
NATs cannot be submitted with tracktimes unless this was fixed
2006-03-10 06934, 2006
Shepard
and we don't even have tracktime editing that long
2006-03-10 06935, 2006
Mudcrow
and I think every NAT should have an annotation with as much info as possible. About 90% of NATs are useless in my opion because they have no information
shepard: better if you urlencoded that, it's be a better surprise (except still hella old meme :)

my main issues are: 1) painfully slow shutdown/startup time, 2) locking isn't as good as postgres, 3) index creation/dropping blocks reads to a table? what the fuck?
2006-03-10 06906, 2006
Russss
the reason I use mysql is because of replication.

Q: How far should we go with ARs? Birthday Party/Nick Cave are very specific with credits, every album always lists full credits for each track. Does having hundreds of ARs for one artist have much impact on MB?
2006-03-10 06944, 2006
ruaok
Mudcrow: go nuts. if we start having too many ARs we'll work out a solution for it.
2006-03-10 06954, 2006
ruaok
as long as it makes sense to have the data, go for it.
Mudcrow: a company I used to work for built their new headoffice on the site of billy smarts old wintering home in winkfield - one circus moved out, another moved in :)

The talk I'm blogging right now had this to say about MySQL:

Meredith also had an interesting observation on MySQL: "The Postgres back-end is really nice, unlike MySQL. I'm sorry all you MySQL users, but your code f*cking sucks." Of course, that elicited a chuckle from the crowd.
