Is this accurate about the importance of the singer? Should this be an addition to the feat. style?

nyght: feat is fine, as i hope that issue will go away soon in the tagger. can you please grab me a quick link to the feat. style guideline. i'm posting a comment now
a featuring artist is one that follows the guideline for it

actually I would just do the first two, if they want to dig, the others are intertwingled pretty well.

dMp_panda is strongly disturbed by the use of the "feat" thing on jazz compilations, where they... don't really make sense. Or do they?
2006-05-16 13644, 2006
yllona
panda: i hate them myself.

i use ARs. if you're using the tagger for jazz, well -- what kind of fan are you anyway? :P
2006-05-16 13621, 2006
dMp_panda
yllona: I really want to kill them. Can't we just push in "earlier release" and ARs to clean them up?

eh, i got spanked when i removed feat. from some artists... i just let them be and add the ARs where needed

*removed the feat. from some tracks, sorry
2006-05-16 13655, 2006

It wasn't that they went to feat, it was they were adding the lead vocal into the feat... I'm just trying to figure out if lead vocal was supposed to be in the feat. To my knowledge, there was no reason for it.

yllona: well... until the tagger supports converting ARs to feat., people are going to be... unhappy about feat. being removed from stuff.
2006-05-16 13647, 2006

I've never seen that in our titles and it seemed like overkill, should it go to mb style then? Even though this feat. is a "fix"?

MingVase: who should we push to enhance the tagger? :D
2006-05-16 13616, 2006

I like the idea... given that I'm not using picard for my collection, though, I'm going to have to roll my own for getting ARs into the filenames (not that I'd have filename collisions without, but I'm pedantic)...

it has its drawbacks
2006-05-16 13651, 2006
MingVase has a script in perl that takes the data from XMLWebService, and the encoded tracks, then applies the comments, and writes them out to the correct directory structure...

but it features really powerfull regexp trickery, and that plugable thing which is very nice
