so this data quality proposal. when artist quality is changed, will it affect the releases in that artist?
      • HairMetalAddict joined the channel
      • mudcrow
kilu: artist quality on affects edits to the artist. releases are unaffected, each release will have its own quality level set
      • on=only
      • Kilu
        okay
      • was one of the goals of this to reduce the amount of edits? by adding one more thing to vote about :p
      • mudcrow
it was to stop pointless edits, like people who want to rename all japanese artists into latin script. It doesnt create more votes, just changes how many votes an edit needs and what happens if it doesnt get enough votes
      • Kilu
my point was that by introducing quality control edits we are reducing pointless edits. so, we just changed from one form of edit to another. though better one, I don't think it will dramatically affect the edit totals
      • it's all good though
      • mudcrow
It may increase the queue, as some edits will stay open for longer, but then low quality will require less votes & so get through quicker, so the queue may go down.
      • Kilu
        indeed
      • but surely the quality control edits will be in the queue as well. which will increase it. how it balances out is of course another thing altogether
      • probably there will quite a bit of quality control edits in the beginning, but slow down in time
      • mudcrow
Yeah, my thoughts exactly, a mad rush to set quality, then I doubt there will be many after that
      • Kilu
        interesting times!
      • :D
      • mudcrow
ah good stuff, a new picar d tagger, label support & quality control :)
      • Kilu
        indeed
      • juhae
        label support = totally awesome
      • mudcrow
        yep mr juhae, totally agree.
      • Kilu
        as do I
      • juhae
any idea if there's a krautrock specialist among mb regulars?
      • Kilu
do either of you know if luks has said anything about picard translations? so far the .9 version doesn't have anything on that department
      • juhae
popol vuh seems to be a complete mess and fixing it looks like a "nice" chore for the poor know-nothing-about-them me
      • mudcrow
        HMB is a rock specialist
      • erm HMA I mean
      • juhae
he's more into that stadium hair-rock stuff though
      • not the 70's oddity-stuff i'm after here :)
      • mudcrow
I got confused between Hair Metal Addict and Hair Bear Bunch, a easy mistake :)
      • juhae
        ehhehe
      • Kilu
        :D
      • mudcrow
doesn't the new picard do translations? I thought the old one did. I've never used it though
      • juhae
never had any need for that feature, no idea
      • Kilu
it doesn't have the option for those yet
      • don't know if it will either, just wondering if I have to prepare myself for the task :p
      • juhae
doomhammerng seems to be on a move-edit spree
      • if he'd only to provide some proof :p

        good afternoon
      • who can recommend me a good UML tool?
      • FauxFaux
        No such thing. :)
      • Prodoc
        haha
      • FauxFaux
Umbrello will generate the crap from existing code.
      • Prodoc
I don't care about the generation process, I'm only looking for one which allows me to create the models
      • FauxFaux
Well, my implication was.. don't bother, write the code, and get it to generate the UML for you. Unless you actually care, and aren't just doing this for brownie points. :)
      • Prodoc
        That's the problem, I do care ;-)
      • there's quite a list on wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UML_tools) but I can't be arsed checking them all
      • There's only one main requirement and that's that it should run on Windows and only preferably on linux as well
      • for the rest it should be easy to use without much fuss
      • FauxFaux
        Heh heh heh.
      • Prodoc
and the latter is where most tools fall off
      • FauxFaux
I was going to write my own at some point, but I went with paper instead.
      • Prodoc
haha, yeah I was thinking it would probably end up with just paper for me as well

Which do you think is more correct on a track titles; the CD cover which ends with 2 exclamation points. The CD spine which has one. Or the official site which has none?
      • warp
        haha
      • url?
      • luks
        two!! :P
      • Kerensky97
      • Why can't a release even be consistant on the CD itself? I hate when the cover is different from the spine.
      • warp
it's either one or two, and i don't think the band particularly cares.
      • Kerensky97
Very true. I guess might as well go with two since wiki does it. At least that way all the internet sites match up.
      • srotta
        I'd go with one.
      • And forget about the Wikipedia.
