so this data quality proposal. when artist quality is changed, will it affect the releases in that artist?

kilu: artist quality on affects edits to the artist. releases are unaffected, each release will have its own quality level set
2007-03-12 07152, 2007
mudcrow
on=only
2007-03-12 07156, 2007
Kilu
okay
2007-03-12 07144, 2007
Kilu
was one of the goals of this to reduce the amount of edits? by adding one more thing to vote about :p
2007-03-12 07154, 2007
mudcrow
it was to stop pointless edits, like people who want to rename all japanese artists into latin script. It doesnt create more votes, just changes how many votes an edit needs and what happens if it doesnt get enough votes
2007-03-12 07116, 2007
Kilu
my point was that by introducing quality control edits we are reducing pointless edits. so, we just changed from one form of edit to another. though better one, I don't think it will dramatically affect the edit totals
2007-03-12 07159, 2007
Kilu
it's all good though
2007-03-12 07114, 2007
mudcrow
It may increase the queue, as some edits will stay open for longer, but then low quality will require less votes & so get through quicker, so the queue may go down.
2007-03-12 07127, 2007
Kilu
indeed
2007-03-12 07111, 2007
Kilu
but surely the quality control edits will be in the queue as well. which will increase it. how it balances out is of course another thing altogether
2007-03-12 07149, 2007
Kilu
probably there will quite a bit of quality control edits in the beginning, but slow down in time
2007-03-12 07119, 2007
mudcrow
Yeah, my thoughts exactly, a mad rush to set quality, then I doubt there will be many after that

any idea if there's a krautrock specialist among mb regulars?
2007-03-12 07106, 2007
Kilu
do either of you know if luks has said anything about picard translations? so far the .9 version doesn't have anything on that department
2007-03-12 07124, 2007

popol vuh seems to be a complete mess and fixing it looks like a "nice" chore for the poor know-nothing-about-them me

never had any need for that feature, no idea
2007-03-12 07120, 2007

it doesn't have the option for those yet
2007-03-12 07153, 2007

FauxFaux
Umbrello will generate the crap from existing code.
2007-03-12 07129, 2007
Prodoc
I don't care about the generation process, I'm only looking for one which allows me to create the models
2007-03-12 07109, 2007
FauxFaux
Well, my implication was.. don't bother, write the code, and get it to generate the UML for you. Unless you actually care, and aren't just doing this for brownie points. :)
There's only one main requirement and that's that it should run on Windows and only preferably on linux as well
2007-03-12 07153, 2007
Prodoc
for the rest it should be easy to use without much fuss
2007-03-12 07119, 2007
FauxFaux
Heh heh heh.
2007-03-12 07145, 2007

and the latter is where most tools fall off
2007-03-12 07122, 2007
FauxFaux
I was going to write my own at some point, but I went with paper instead.
2007-03-12 07115, 2007

haha, yeah I was thinking it would probably end up with just paper for me as well

Which do you think is more correct on a track titles; the CD cover which ends with 2 exclamation points. The CD spine which has one. Or the official site which has none?
