300+ asins... i hope this was done by some sort of tools and not by hand...
catgroove

i clean my asins mostly though...
catgroove
its got a self clean now, but a time aho..
its in the forums
Citizen
and i hate to see that a lot of my CDs have no disc id at mb...
adding the IDs and waiting some hours till i can rip them.... too lazy to type all titles by myself

Citizen: why wait a couple hours before tagging? isn't the disc ID added to the release?
Jugdish_ joined the channel
Citizen
cooperaa_ it is, but i tag with the freedb gateway and EAC before ripping... and this is a mirror which takes some time to update
cooperaa_
ah

cooperaa
are there any windows rippers that will grab mb data directly?
Max on OS-X and Sound Juicer (I believe) on Linux do
Citizen
not that i'm aware of... mb is not good supported in this way... alll use freedb
dholmes
Yeah, but those aren't really an alternative to EAC if you're pedantic about a perfect rip
cooperaa
max apparently can use cdparanoia
dholmes
Yeah, but even cdparanoia is a bit dated and doesn't do everything EAC does today
Apparently there are known issues that the cdparanoia developers are aware of but haven't had time to deal with
cooperaa
heh
is there any harm in ripping, then tagging? :)
I know it's not ideal
Rondom
Citizen: retag with picard afterwards
it adds way more tags
dholmes
That's what I do. It's a pain if you have a zillion albums you want to rip, though
cooperaa
ripping is a pain no matter how you look at it
dholmes
Yeah, but all the more reason to want to streamline it as much as possible
Citizen
i want to rip about 400
cooperaa
tagging with picard isn't that bad though... drag, drop, puids go!
Rondom
dholmes: well, I always wanted to write a small script with cdpranoia and mb-tagging
but I think I'll never do it
cooperaa heads back out to the bbq
cooperaa
cya guys
Citizen
bye cooperaa
Rondom
cooperaa: yeah, picardqt is really cool
dholmes
Well, cdparanoia is certainly the best the open-source world has. I'd look at it myself if I had time and knew anything about the subject, but I don't really
Citizen
i never got really along with picard... i'm happy to know how to add a disc id with it
Rondom
Citizen: are you talking about picard or picardqt?
hmm.. how come 3 votes aren't enough?
Citizen
picard 0.7.2 on windows
Rondom
3 unanimous votes to accept/reject <== 3 votes
Citizen
wait some time... i noticed open edits with three or more yes votes
Rondom
I saw them, too
but it takes quite a long time, half an hour
Rondom looks at his asin edits
I'm glad some people voted on them
so the list gets cleaned
Citizen
you did it really all by hand?
Rondom
Citizen: well, I partly used helpers
I used my keyboard
I made the list display 100 entries per page
and opened all borked asins in tabs
Citizen
oh, your keyboard? wow... really oldskool ;)
Rondom
I used a bookmarklet to focus the input box
Citizen
hmm... effective...
Rondom
I triggered the bookmarklet with a keycombo and pressed end to make the js update the text-box and pressed enter to submt
after that I used ctrl + tab to jump to the next tab
(I know I could also trigger the js-function that updates the url and submit the form automatically, but i didn't want to bork anything, because I still wanted to take a short look at the url)
Jugdish has quit

e.g. there seems to be a small bug in the js that occured for some japanese urls (I wrote down the edit-number in order to file a bug for it, not a serious bug, though, it simply didn't work)
Citizen
hmmm
i was playing with picard now... took one release aside and drag'n'dropped it in picard... and now? ^^
