when I get back I want to set aside a whole day to build the three OSX builds needed to build a full mac univ. binary.

at least gcc should be able to build for multiple archs in one pass, or do you mean something different?

that -n flag or whatever on the sip build essentially sets the tone for the install.

ffmpeg fails under UB mode.

so, there are two options: fix that (fuck that) or build two seperate builds

and then lipo all the shared libs into one UB build

ppc + intel = UB

thats, if I grok the process correctly.

I'll bring my intel laptop to the office and work there with the ppc box.

I thought you do CFLAGS="-arch i386 -arch ppc" and it just works

I'm really interested to try it. see if I can automate the process a bit.

I couldn't get ffmpeg to build.

so I was using macports, but it wouldn't build in UB mode

maybe if I can find a way to fix/build ffmpeg I can try that.

but somehow I think that might be too optimistic for ffmpeg

I use a very long list configure options for ffmpeg on windows

to remove all unneeded parts

hmmm. maybe we should setup a time when we're both online and have some time (after Nov 25) and see if we can work this out together.

I think part of it is that I've never worked with ffmpeg.

its conceivable to build everything in a shell.

just running the final app will need grapical display, but by using libtool (not gnus) you can figure out if all the deps have been resolved.

I'm going to the hospital again this sunday, so I couldn't play with it right now anyway
