e.g. when buying GBA games or anime DVDs. sellers with a rating below 98% is a good indication that they're selling bootlegs. (wwhich means that 97% of the buyers don't even fucking notice).

CatCat: yes, you need to register. the system will keep feedback on you too.
in .nl we have www.marktplaats.nl (marketplace) and www.speurders.nl. I like using those for bigger stuff, because they often have phone numbers and I can just call and arrange things... and go there to pick it up, so I can inspect it before buying.

But for some reason Opera freezes on me. I try it occasionally, like it, then it starts doing that again.
2008-06-05 15736, 2008
warp
nikki: oh, i don't care about losing the tabs. i'm just annoyed because it takes a while for os x to finish killing it and to allow me to start it again.
2008-06-05 15759, 2008
srotta
"freezes" meaning it responds ok but it won't load anything.
2008-06-05 15702, 2008
nikki
there's something completely wrong with something there then...
2008-06-05 15710, 2008
nikki has never seen that happen
2008-06-05 15722, 2008
warp
srotta: ah, my firefox does that sometimes :)
2008-06-05 15724, 2008

That was already in Opera 6 or something like that. I don't remember which version I bought.
2008-06-05 15736, 2008

Yeah, I've actually paid for a browser :P
2008-06-05 15738, 2008

2008-06-05 15754, 2008
warp
srotta: i would too if it would make them work properly.
2008-06-05 15757, 2008
CatCat
but on the mac its a bit buggy in that if you close it yo uhave to kill it completely or else if it gets a niglet to open a new window/tab/whatever it deletes the memory of what was open
2008-06-05 15758, 2008
nikki
occasionally it pukes on a site and just sits beachballing, but I can kill it instantly and have it reopen in a couple of seconds
2008-06-05 15759, 2008
creature
I paid for Opera too!
2008-06-05 15708, 2008
creature
Then, like, 2 weeks later they made it completely free.
2008-06-05 15710, 2008
nikki
and it never loses the tabs
2008-06-05 15716, 2008
srotta
And it's happened on multiple machines, multiple operatings systems, so it's not just some weird configuration thing.
2008-06-05 15725, 2008
creature
But I *had* been using a cracked version for about a year before that, so I figure I got my money's worth anyway.
2008-06-05 15726, 2008
nikki
I was about to pay for it, but then I loaded the site and they'd made it free
