In Helsinki at least earlier most of the underground stops were open platforms, so you actually didn't have to jump anything.

You don't need to jump anything to use the DLR here in places, it's fully open apart from I think 2 stops

YEah, the only two closed platforms are Stratford and Bank iirc

You need to already have touched in, or come in via National Rail links to get to those DLR platforms

Anywhere else thoguh you can just walk on or off and get away with it, as it's rare to find a ticket inspector on the DLR and they're fully automated with no staff driving it or anything

in munich the underground is open, no gates. you just are asked to stamp your ticket at the entrance.

Muz: the gates in .nl are considerably higher.

A minor gripe about these p[ayment systems are that they're limited to small metros/regions. I can understand not being able to pay for say national rail trains, but it's a pain in the arse to not be able to get a bus in any county and payusing the same card heh

the thing only works in oslo, go out of oslo and you need a differnt system

Oyster Cards only works in London and links to/from London, understandable as it's ran by TfL (Transport for London)

I don't really see as such a problem. If I have to travel somewhere else, I have this thing called "credit card". Works everywhere.

the money issue should be much clearer by the end of august, i'm waiting for monthly tax returns to be arranged because of my new house, etc..

also because i gave up on twilight princess and am now playing master quest

CatCat: it's a "card with strips", each strip is 1 zone -- you stamp the amount of zones you want to travel (+1 strip base fare).
