        :DF
      • nikki
I did try refining it once before, but it's an endless task
      • aCiD2
        that's my tard face
      • Muz_
        Haha
      • LotR
nikki: once they know *everything* about you, it'll be slightly better :-p
      • nikki
LotR: yeah, they'd realise that hmv are usually cheaper for the stuff I normally :P
      • luks
heh, damn, my recommendation on amazon's home page are now all db2 books, thanks muz :P
      • nikki
        +buy
      • Muz_
        Hah
      • I should so make something to parse ASINs into an IRC presentable format that doesn't need me to explicitly follow the given link.
      • LotR
nikki: so they'd partner with them and send you their spam :)
      • Muz_
If only so I can know whether or not to bother clicking.
      • LotR
or you can be sensible and only log in when you're actually making a purchase
      • Muz_
You don't know Amazon works, do you? :)
      • LotR
what you're saying makes it sound like you're letting them track random visits. which is your choice, but not one I'd make
      • Muz_
        "letting them". Heh.
      • LotR
and I could care less exactly how they do it technically
      • Muz_
You're still off the mark, and I really can't be arsed to explain it all.
      • Muz_ has work to do.
      • luks
when I clicked on the DB2 link yesterday, I wasn't logged in, now I did log in and it transfered the history to my account
      • aCiD2
        Muz: ogogogo?
      • luks
it's really not as simple as you think :)
      • Muz_
        aCiD2: og == go.
      • aCiD2
        oh, thought so
      • LotR
luks: so there's different levels of being tracked. doesn't mean you can't foil it
      • luks
        LotR: but why would I?
      • LotR
luks: right, that's the choice you make. I just wish more people would realize it's a choice they have

How usable is trunk at the moment? I want to test if my performance issues are resolved
      • sorry, should have mentioned: picard
      • Muz_
afaik, a new release is planned soon
      • So you might be better off waiting until that's done, unless you really want to make a checkout and fight potential dragons. ¬_¬
      • luks
new release is going to happen next weekend
      • but trunk is pretty safe to use

running picard from trunk I get this: W: 3086481088 16:38:37 No decoders found! Fingerprinting will be disabled.Could this be the cause of the very slow performance on lookups?
      • Wizzcat
that only means you can't do puid lookups, regular lookups should function as normal
      • foolish
are there any difference in speed on puid lookups vs regular ones?
      • v6lur has quit
      • outsidecontext
foolish: you should run "./setup.py config" and "./setup.py build_ext -i" before you run picard directly from the source
      • and PUID lookups are slower because picard needs to calculate the fingerprint, make a request to the musicdns server to get an PUID and finally make the request to MB.org itself

      • ruaok

      • the cali boys lose in that case.
      • aCiD2
        ah
      • how did it go?
      • ruaok
well. the board is happy that we're in the black.
      • happy that we're getting our plans wrt RG and NGS on track.
      • most of the time board meetings are just me giving an overall status update.
      • but they get to hear the nitty gritty things from the business side that are not really safe to mention in public.
      • aCiD2 nods
      • overall, I'm happy with how the board is working right now. helping me work through some issues. Cory always has dynamite feedback.
      • aCiD2

      • brianfreud
        pong :)
      • aCiD2
        aha :)
      • luks
outsidecontext: nope, do you have a link?
      • (to some info)
      • outsidecontext
lp can now automatically import a pot file whenever it changes in a bzr branch
      • luks
        ah
      • pronik
        that's nice one
      • outsidecontext
but you have to activate it. i wondered if we should do that
      • luks
that assumes a versioned pot file, right?
      • (is ours?)
      • outsidecontext
        right
      • it is
