fatih: yer, but the three releases, except for the title are the same. When I put my CD in the disc IDs identifies the discs as part of the other compilations (with the same tracks etc). So what do you do... add the disc id to two different releases - just for the title? Can you clone a release for that?
Leftmost
I think the accepted policy is to leave identical releases as the same release.
fatih
Industrial Armageddon is a 2 disc release.
Industrial Virus has 3 discs.
But Industrial Virus and Industrial Hazard are identical.

jep, just googled, Industrial Armageddon despite having one of the discids (and same tracks) just has one less disc. So the challenge is how do you merge Industrial Virus and Industrial Hazard?
fatih
Discs 2&3 of I.V. are in MB but disc 1 is not. You can either add disc 1 too, and add "later release of" relationships, or merge discs 2 and 3 into corresponding Industrial Hazard discs.
But I don't see a problem with duplicate releases with different titles, because in NGS each release event will be a separate release anyway.
ekes googles NGS - ok...
ekes
I do think in this case it's just a one off release with a different title. 'Diseased by Total/BMG'
Also I dunno how NGS will work - but you want to syncronise any cleanup on the titles etc.
any cleanup or annotations I guess..

anyone want to discuss rewriting / removing Extra Title Information Style
brianfreud?
brianfreud
yes?
I've been leaving ETI style alone for now, until after NGS and Warp's title proposal.
neothe0ne
would you agree with my view that ETI is written PURELY from an English/latin point of view.
both important sentences in the guideilne talk about requiring parentheses (not used in all languages as the standard) and case (many dont, obviously pictograpohic languages)

if you read the extra title stuff literally, it even messes up german
so I do agree that it's written from an english point of view :P
